If this isn’t controlled opposition theatre, then why didn’t the President Tweet, email, appeal on media for ALL of his red-blooded American supporters to light up the the democrats switchboards with calls to demand a wall?
Remember when the TEAparty, Rush, Gingrich republicans and FReeper community would energize the conservative base to FIGHT.

Go look at your home page, good grief, we got alot and he’s still fighting. I wish he were dictator but he’s not so he can’t just make things happen because he wants them.
On second thought, I don’t want a dictator - I just want all libs to be gone so we can get things done. We need an amicable divorce in this country and split up the assets :)
I figure he’s doing that so he can justify declaring a national emergency and apprehending the money for the wall after all.
He’s doing everything he can to work with them and if they keep rejecting it, it makes THEM look like the bad guys.
This way, it takes the wind out of their sails about government workers not getting paid.
And the dems have already twice refused to do anything so that they’d get their pay, and now Trump does.
So now, guess who’s the good guy? It isn’t the dems with Trump reluctantly dragging his feet.

She doesn’t need a cudgel, she can simply steam roll him if he gets in her way. They have the votes to override in both Houses...and that means they likely have the votes to impeach and convict in the Senate if he tries anything along the emergency declaration lines. It’s checkmate. He is going to have to give up the issue and let the caravans in, all of them in future as well. Open borders will remain the policy as long as Congress has its current makeup. Game over. We lost.

The immigration crisis has been an emergency for years, but no other President had the balls to deal with it, not even Reagan. You said the courts would shut any emergency down claiming Trump hadn’t declared it when he first took office. I responded, saying that the crisis has gotten worse since he took office. Maybe I should have mentioned the increase in caravans, and the fact that every attempt by Trump to curtail and enforce existing immigration laws have been rejected by Federal courts, who in themselves are making the crisis even worse.

I’m certainly willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt here. But I have one question for everyone here:
Come February 15th, do you think that
1. We will have legislation ready that funds the wall 5+ billion; or
2. Trump will declare the emergency.
I predict Lucy, football. On both. February 15th. Neither. And truly hope I’m wrong.
