BREAKING: Drudge Reports Shutdown Agreement Reached

The Drudge Report blasted out its breaking news siren on Friday, reporting that an agreement has been reached to end the government shutdown.

Matt Drudge‘s high-trafficked news aggregator reported that according to a source, a shutdown agreement has been reached, and that an announcement is set for 1 p.m.

“SOURCE: SHUTDOWN AGREEMENT REACHED,” the Drudge headline blared. “ANNOUNCEMENT SET FOR 1 PM.”

“GOVT TO REOPEN ‘TEMPORARILY’,” it added.

The nearly six-week government shutdown appeared set to continue after two measures to reopen the government — one that would fund President Donald Trump’s border wall, and one did not — failed in the Senate on Friday.

CBS News reported shortly after that Trump is “expected to announce Friday he’ll back a move to reopen the government for a few weeks” at the White House.

CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett reported that Trump is expected to support a continuing resolution that would reopen the government “for a few weeks,” while the debate over a border wall continues.

This story is breaking…

What an awful picture of Pelosi. This smile will be the stuff of nightmares. If the leaks are correct, she will soon consider herself Queen Pelosi.

FROM THE WASHINGTON POST:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/senate-leaders-continue-to-seek-a-deal-to-end-shutdown-that-will-satisfy-trump/2019/01/25/09c898dc-20ad-11e9-8e21-59a09ff1e2a1_story.html?utm_term=.ad74690038f0

Congressional leaders and President Donald Trump have reached a temporary deal to end the government shutdown, according to reports.

The Washington Post reports the pact would reopen the government for three weeks while leaving the issue of border wall funding to further talks. The Post quoted officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

A source also told Fox News that negotiators were close on a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 15th with no funding for the wall.

LOL. Since you’re here to troll, I’ll ask again: Is Root and Branch McConnell only a “liar” when Ted Cruz runs for POTUS?

Our “conservative” career politician Senators are AWOL once again when we need them most. Mike Lee gets his beloved Christmas for Criminals and then stabs POTUS in the back on the shutdown vote, etc., etc.

This country is in such dire straits but our political classes and the MSM are manipulating so many Americans they have no clue what’s going on. We’ve turned into the old Soviet Union. The MSM is TASS and the Congress is the Politburo! Trump and those of us who support him are the bad apples in the barrel they want to be rid of!

I hope your wrong.

Trump would have possibly had success with these tactics back in 17'-18' when he knew he had control of both chambers of congress.

His supporters would have squealed with glee about him putting the screws to Ryan and McCain.

But he didn't because he didn't want to do it. And now it's an impossible lift.

He IS reliable. He’s reliably anti-Trump and clearly part of the enemy camp.

As I said, you can imprint any belief on Drudge you like, but the fact remains he only links to other sources. He neither portrays them as reliable or valid. He just posts links to them.

There’s no option but for Trump to “go full Obama” and say “to hell with courts and congress, I’m spending money where I want and signing executive orders to do what my supporters want”. Hopefully that’s where things are going but my optimism is pretty low.

Trump can’t go “full Obama” because his own party doesn’t support him. Look at all the Senators flip him the bird so soon after Christmas for Criminals. It’s clearer than ever that Trump is paddling solo in the beltway sewer.

Trump may end up having to declare a National Emergency after 3 weeks anyway.

That's probably the way to go. Try to negotiate for 3 weeks. They go nowhere. Declare national emergency.

The Deep State is putting up a “wall” of resistance to stop the building of a wall. That’s what I see!

“That’s probably the way to go. Try to negotiate for 3 weeks. They go nowhere. Declare national emergency.”

Exactly my thoughts as well. Nancy has said there’d be negotiation once things are open. Once that falls flat then it’s time to point out she lied and to declare the emergency and just build the thing.

There you go again. What are you drinking today? Trump never had “control of both chambers” And the stinking piles of garbage omnibus bills, non repeal of obamacare, etc. prove it.

You fail to note that Drudge links to only sources \ propaganda he like to spread .

That is the heart of propaganda and spreading Lies .

Ignoring the Other side .

In Drudge’s case , the conservative side .

He will peddle only CNN and Yahoo and The Hill and Bloomberg Dem talking points all day.

Then those of us who still remain Republicans need to bombard the president with messages to abandon the GOP and go independent. What’s the use for these Repukes. All they do is delay and delay implementation of any conservative principles, and roll over for the RATs. The Repukes are a dead party walking anyways. If the president and the bulk of his supporters abandon the GOP this useless party can go by the wayside once and for all! I’m sick of this s**t from the traitors on our side!

From March of 17’ and Trump signed it.

And August. Trump threatened a government shutdown but folded then too.

You can Google as this stuff quite easily...

It sounds like the Senate caved, doesn’t it? And if it shows up on Trump’s desk and he signs it, then he caved?

There are only two ways Trump comes out of this intact:

1.) There is funding for the border wall in the legislation.

2.) The House and Senate send it to his desk where he vetoes it, and the veto is then overridden by Congress.

That’s how I see it.

If it has funding, Trump wins. If he vetoes it and they override it, he may not win, but he won’t lose. If it contains no wall funding and he signs it, he will have lost.

That’s a darn shame (no RIF) but it is no surprise. I did not think that Mr. Trump would be allowed to go that far. The swamp is just too deep.
