The NBA champion Golden State Warriors missed out on a White House visit for the second year in a row, meeting instead Thursday with former President Barack Obama rather than President Trump.
Pro sports teams are traditionally invited to the White House after winning championships, but Trump rescinded the offer to the Warriors in September 2017 after stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durantmade critical remarks. Curry and Durant said their team wasn't planning on visiting Trump anyway.
During their visit to Washington last year, the team instead toured the National Museum of African American History and Culture, accompanied by local schoolchildren.
An Instagram photo posted by the Warriors’ Draymond Green on Thursday showed him and his teammates meeting with Obama before the team's 126-118 victory against the Washington Wizards in the nation's capital.
“Whole gang with the 44th president of the United States today,” Green’s caption read.

How can they snub Trump if he didn’t invite them?
What to do? I can’t watch or support the NBA any less than I do already.
I can increase my dislike for them, but that will also give me heartburn.

Exactly. It’s a free country and they can meet with whomever they’d like. I was just insulted for them insulting President Trump after they won their title.
The NBA is junk basketball at its finest.
So SCOTUS justices do not have to attend the State of the Union (if it is given in public). I was reminded of that recently here.
And high school and college and NFL and NBA sports teams can take a knee, wave a foreign flag, refuse to attend with Trump in the White House, or choose to gratefully do photo ops with him.
And Hollywood, TV or popular music stars can deliberately snub Trump to insult him.
All part of our freedoms here, I fully admit and acknowledge.
But still signs of a nation divided more than any time since the 1860s.

The NBA, as far as I’m concerned....ended in the early 1990s. I wouldn’t even lay out $5 for a entry ticket into a game.
Vote out of office any pol who supports taxpayer stadiums.
The only good thing about the NBA, is that more and more, good white Euro players are taking over the league from the Thug ballers.
I went to a Timberwolves game about 10 years ago only because my brother gave me free tickets.
It wasn’t worth it. I was waiting for all the excitement to happen that they always talk about. Never happened.
If Obama had any sense of honor, he would not have met with them, so as not to give the media more ammo against Trump.

I remember the howls of outrage when some NASCAR drivers refused to meet Obama at the White House. But they didn’t go to meet with one of the Bushes instead.
