FULL TITLE: Ben Stein: Stalin, Hitler 'Came to Power Promising Same Things Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is Promising’
Democrat Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is promisng Americans the same thing brutal dictators promised, and those promises are never realized, Ben Stein explained in a Fox News Channel interview this week.
Stein, an economist, lawyer and writer, warned that, when politicians promising to punish success in the name of equality obtain power, their policies invariably have terrifying results:
"We have a society in which there are an awful lot of people who have no idea that Stalin, Hitler, Mao Tse Tung all came to power promising the same kinds of things that Miss Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is promising.
"That led to mass murder, led to dictatorship, and led to genocide.
"These promises are old promises, and they invariably lead to bad things. The promise of saying to the people do what you can within the law to make your life better and your family's life better that system works extremely well. Capitalism is a system that allows people to make something of themselves instead of oppressing other people."
American society works because people are free to succeed - but, communism and socialism lead only to oppression, violence, corruption - and broken promises - Stein concluded:
"Making money is one of the most of harmless things there is to do in the whole world. And, that’s what our society is about. It's not about ordering people around, putting them concentration camps. What do you do if there is a richer or poorer person? What do you do? Do you take him away and shoot him?

Any time I see a comparison to Hitler I think of it. He seems to come up a lot online.
I am re-reading THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH by Shirer.
he states both Hitler and Marx got their philosophical leanings from Hegel.
I call them two bastard sons of the same father, Hegel, by different mothers.
Shirer, today, would be blackballed (Opps, can I say that?)because he points out the homosexual proclivities and perversions of the early Nazi S.A.
The difference here is Hitler and Stalin gave hope to people that were in deep misery, the people backing this movement in America are just ignorant.
Ocasio-Cortez oniy has 12 years before the end of life as we know it.
So she’s a young woman in a hurry. She just can’t be bothered with little details such as how things get paid for. She all but stated that facts don’t matter, as long as you are “morally right”, moral that is, according to whatever the liberal side of the issue at hand is.

Interesting series running on PBS these days - “The Dictator’s Playbook” - last night’s edition was on Mussolini (who by the way inspired Hitler to become the guy he did, not the other way around) - turns out old Benito started his dictatorial career as a SOCIALIST......surprise, surprise........
What the commies want is the exact same thing that Hitler wanted..to wipe the planet of certain people..with Hitler, he wanted to rid the planet of Jews, who he blamed for everything wrong with the world..with commies, they want to rid the planet of Conservatives, who they blame for everything wrong in the world
So you’re going to let the Left-wing bullies decide what parts of history are off-limits because they don’t like the resemblance being noticed?
The author is not calling AOC another Hitler. What he is saying is that the false promises of Socialism leads to destruction like we saw under people such as Hitler, Stalin and others. He could have easily just compared her to Maduro.
Meh.
Stein was a big supporter of Al Franken.
Both times that he was elected.
