President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown is over.
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over."
Trump clarified earlier statements suggesting he may do an “alternative” State of the Union, writing that he was not seeking an alternative venue because "there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber."
"I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!" he added.
Don’t utter the word “cave”. You’ll be flamed and called a “pearl-clutcher” by the legions of personality cultists lurking here.
That is a short sighted view of things. Fairweather voters like fairweather soldiers desert the field when the fight does not go their way.
How has she won? She still can’t fly, and that humiliation will be with her for a very long time. Pelosi thought that President Trump would bite, and create a big show by holding his SOTU anyway. Now he’s taken all the wind from her sails. Plus, she looks bad for first inviting him while the shutdown was in its early days, then does a complete turnabout, and recommends that he postpones. What this tells me is that the bitch thought that President Trump would roll over, and not demand the wall funding. She was counting on it. It didn’t happen, so she disinvited him. Who looks more foolish and petty? It ain’t President Trump, that’s for sure.
I also disagree with this freepers decision, but this is “FREE” Republic so they are entitled to their opinion and are free to express it here in a polite and respectable maner without snide remarks referring to them as “pathetic”.
She is NOT going to meet with him, she is NOT going to give him the money to build the wall, and she is going to make this kind of shutdown last as long as she can...right through 2020, if possible.
The House will do absolutely NOTHING for the next 2 years, except investigate Trump, every member of his family, and everyone whom he ever said "HI" to and run for office.
The MSM will continue to blame him for everything and anything they can come up with and that SHALL take its toll on his base.
Not in your wildest dreams, can you possibly believe that the majority of the populace are going to blame Nancy/the House for not doing the actually work of this nation, can you ?

He continues to look Presidential & Nancy looks like the petty b!tch she is. A rip-roaring in-your-face rally or something would be fun & temporarily ‘satisfying’ in the face of Nancy “playing childish games with the president of the United States over something as important as this address to the country and the world” [so says Democrat Doug Schoen]. Trump has done the unexpected again - refused to play in Nancy’s sandbox. No SOTU? That’s on you Nancy - I’ve shaken that dust off my feet and moved beyond your petty antics/distractions because I’ve got bigger fish to fry, like getting a border wall.
He’s going to beat Nasty Nan into a pulp over this verbally ... he’s already started at his meeting this afternoon. I’ve also been surprised at how patient the man can be when he’s giving someone lots of rope to hang themselves & I think a public, political hanging is the fate he’s got in store for Nancy.
I had to laugh - in his comments to the press before his meeting he called Pelosi “Nancy” & then said “that’s what I call her, Nancy” .... not Speaker Pelosi, etc. but just plain old Nancy. I’m sure that had her sucking her dentures.
1) Trump has a definite date in mind where he will soon end the shutdown by declaring a national emergency, so that he can fund the wall.
2) Trump folded like a cheap suit.

So what is new from what's been going on the past two years? Nothing's changed. The Dems will be Dems, whether in power or not, and the press will continue to attack President Trump.
Me too, as long as he wasn't running alongside a RINO. I would definitely pass that ticket by.
Or worse, if they just didn’t show up. I WANT them to all be there, so they can look uncomfortable while Trump introduces one Angel family after another, and one Leo after another who supports what he’s doing. I want the American people to see how petty and vindictive most of these democrats are.
