It's been a bad week for the mainstream press, first with the Michael Cohen hoax by BuzzFeed and now with the Covington Catholic fake news, where journalists claimed that Catholic students mocked a Native American. That turned out to be untrue. It's safe to say that the spectacle has ruined everyone's last remaining shred of hope that the media would stop being the Enemy of the People. Clearly, that is not going to happen. The bright spot on the horizon is that The Wrap is reporting that at least one of these terrible "journalists" has been fired:
Digital company INE Entertainment has fired a journalist who publicly wished for the death of several Covington Catholic High School students and their parents in a pair of tweets over the weekend. Aside from his job as a post-production supervisor at INE, Erik Abriss is a contributor to New York Medias pop culture site Vulture. We were surprised and upset to see the inflammatory and offensive rhetoric used on Erik Abriss Twitter account this weekend. He worked with the company in our post-production department and never as a writer, the company said in a statement to TheWrap on Monday.
Abriss was one of the hundreds of adults on Twitter calling for the deaths of children for the crime of wearing MAGA hats and smiling in public. Lashing out on Twitter, Abriss expressed his deep wish that the children and their parents would die.
"I dont know what it says about me but Ive truly lost the ability to articulate the hysterical rage, nausea, and heartache this makes me feel," typed Abriss. "I just want these people to die. Simple as that. Every single one of them. And their parents.

The media has served the Democrats for decades, not the people. Matt Drudge made a name for himself by breaking the Monica Lewinsky story, and his reason was clear: Other media outlets know about this story but have decided to bury it because you (the people) don’t need to know about it. As I understand it, his goal was primarily to report stories the “mainstream media” buried.
I had a co-worker back in the 1980s who used to say, “don’t believe anything you read, and only half of what you see and hear.” It was good advice then, it is excellent advice now.
Fired? good, but has to be sued for everything he’s worth!
I'm right with you about posthumously hanging Uncle Walt but you lost coherence with the rest:
1. We had a full-on Cold War going against the Soviets, the Warsaw Pact and China at the time. Either of you doubt that it was dangerous?
2.Korea and the Vietnam were the Soviets and their pals latest tries at taking over critical points in the world for their overall global strategy to overcome us. (Hint: after WWII we were a global superpower and all areas around the world had strategic significance. Ever heard of the Straits of Malacca?)
3.As the Soviets and the NVA ramped things up, we had to as well - or just concede and let an ally get crushed in front of the world. We hung on for 8 long years as the world watched, American traitors ran a commuting service to the enemy's capitol in Hanoi and a full-time treason network disguised as an "antiwar movement".
4. We lost 58,220, not "52,000".
In the end, there were enough of us with guts to show that America wasn't a pushover and our allies stuck with us and the Soviet empire ran out of gas.
I was there, in combat, from January 1966 to May 1967: what were you boys doing?
Die?
Well..........RIGHT BACK AT’CHA, sweets.
( Lock and load, boys and girls—they IS a’commin.....)
Lawsuits are a-coming!!
CNN will hire it before the day is over.
It works in Ben Garrison's comics, it works in the best 17 syllable haikus, and also in Trump's powerful 178 character tweets.
Here's another meme I completed this weekend, praising perhaps our two most valuable private citizen Justice warriors.

Thank you for your service.
I grew up after the war. However, my dad served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific with Dug Out Doug.
Archie Bunker called Uncle Walter a commie on national television. Now, the Archie character was supposed to be a buffoon, but he turned out to be incredibly popular. And the script was a liberal's interpretation of middle America's beliefs, but probably had a current of truth. So, I don't think everyone was duped by Walter Cronkite.
However long it takes to get his next job lined up... a week or two, depending on how he's inclined.
PP,
That exotic looking creature standing with Mad Max
must be “Cher”-ed.
Taking us back to the Mackie years
THIS IS WHAT REAL HATE LOOKS LIKE... Liberals ARE the haters of our time.
The photo is the “journalist” that was fired.
First of all, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Since you asked, I was in Junior High School. A couple of Family Friends lost their love ones over there.
The criticism was directed to those who made poor decisions that put you and thousands of other brave souls in harms way. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
The Politicians motivations and actions may or may not be in line with what you stated, but the execution and final result of their decisions will be called into question for years to come.
The South Vietnamese were sacrificed by the Democrat Congress after we pulled out. They were left to fend for themselves without our support which IMHO was a slap in the face of those who served and fought there.
Then again, I expect no more from Democrat Politicians. They always live up to my low expectations of them.
As for MY Posts regarding this topic, I pointed out that Nixon was blamed for Vietnam while JFK and especially LBJ are rarely treated with the same contempt.
Ha! I never noticed. It does look like Cher.
Somebody else pointed out that the hen is actually a rooster. I guess that makes this meme Fake News :-)
Hen? Rooster?
We are well aware Cher’s daughter?/son? has this malady.
Genes from mom?
