The images in a series of videos that went viral on social media Saturday showed a tense scene near the Lincoln Memorial. In them, a Native American man steadily beats his drum at the tail end of Friday’s Indigenous Peoples March while singing a song of unity for indigenous people to “be strong” in the face of the ravages of colonialism that now include police brutality, poor access to health care and the ill effects of climate change on reservations. Surrounding him are a throng of young, mostly white teenage boys, several wearing Make America Great Again caps, with one standing about a foot from the drummer’s face wearing a relentless smirk.

That’s what AIM does. They used to bring Russell Means to Denver every year and throw horse manure at the Columbus Day Parade marchers and floats. They typically held the parade up for at least an hour by blocking the street. Just theater.

I’m not convinced that Conservative kids are interested in putting down Native Americans, but it sure fits right into the Washington Post’s narrative on Trump being racist and his followers just doing what he wants.

Supposedly he was singing the A.I.M. song. That would be the same AIM that Leonard Peltier was involved with. Peltier murdered a couple of FBI agents.
The boys, a group of students from a Catholic school were in DC to sightsee and participate in the march for life. The native American activist came over to the group and got in their faces.
