President Donald Trump plans to offer Democrats another proposal to end the shutdown when he addresses the nation from the White House on Saturday afternoon -- what officials are describing as his third offer to end the shutdown, according to a senior administration official.
The official told CNN that Trump's idea is to put something on the table to get Democrats to engage with negotiations. Trump is not expected to back down from his demand for a border wall, but the plan will seek to entice Democrats by offering other concessions.

If I were him, I would float the rumor that I intended to turn the layoffs into permanent RIFs so the government employees could draw unemployment.
I hope he announces that if the shutdown is still in place on Monday, he will be permanently firing a couple hundred thousand furloughed fed workers.
He must establish a reasonable time limit and then SHUT DOWN THE BORDER!! The Courts cannot stop a national Emergency act by our president!!

Agree. Do not doubt that if he declares a national emergency that the unhinged Left may well use that as grounds for impeachment, citing it as an attempt to violate the role of congress, something like that that they will call a “high crime” and get a small army of law professors to back them up. it would be a distraction at best and an actual constitutional crisis at worst. He wants to avoid that of course.
They could even try to invoke the 25th amendment. These people are sick!

Or he’ll offer to jack up the H1B visas. That’s not going to go over well with the base. No way would I support that unless there are major reforms to the program. It is routinely abused. Americans have lost jobs over that program.
