I believe he was accidentally hit with the crowd dispersal round from the flash-ball gun.

Shame ful
If the reports are correct, this was unwarranted.
not good
Horrible. Many in the comments section say the media is silent on this.
Sad for him and his family, but the Yellow Vesters now have a poster-child for their movement.
There were bound to be casualties.
They are not submitting like they were supposed to.
So...uh...why not shoot at them instead?
retour sur investissement est une salope
I had previously read that the French cops were aiming for the head with their rounds. They are trying to provoke a violent response. So far, the peaceful protesters haven’t risen to the bait, but if the cops are going to play this game, they might want to send their families to a safe haven, like Vichy.
Riots against govt for months. Gets shot. Im supposed to feel sorry?
I took 4 years of French in HS, so I still have a good understanding of it if not spoken too fast. (note: it was the only foreign language taught in my very rural high school)
I slowed the video down to 0.75 normal speed to verify the English subtitles. Well worth the time to watch even if you only read the subtitles!
REVOLUTION ! The Yellow Jackets with English subtitles - January 12, 2019
Last time I was in Walmart I saw yellow vests for sale.
All it takes is one Martyr.
Macaroni is done now.
A fireman who joined France’s Yellow Vest protest movement
Joining a protest movement that has become increasingly violent can be hazardous to one’s health.
I don’t think the Fire Fighters are going to take very kindly to this.
It’s all fun and games
until someone gets shot in the head.
Lest some forget the riot catalyst was outrage over the Paris Carbon Accord fuel tax that was was shoved down the people’s throats: $49/gal by 2030.
Meanwhile, an American politician suggested that the violence seen in France could spread across the world if a carbon tax of $5,500 per ton (equal to $49 per gallon of gasoline or diesel) that a United Nationals special climate report called for in 12 years brought in.
‘If Paris streets burned over a proposed 25 cents per gallon climate change tax, imagine the global conflagration over a $49 per gallon tax,’ Chuck DeVore, the VP of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, says in an op-ed for Forbes.
‘Keep in mind that the unrest in France was triggered by a looming 25-cent hike, which is a little less than 10% more in taxes than French drivers already pay. To meet the $49 per gallon tax hike recommended by the U.N., fuel taxes in France would have to go up 17-fold.’
