The White House on Friday banned the use of all government aircraft for congressional delegations without approval from the White House chief of staff during the partial government shutdown.
In a letter to the heads of all federal agencies and departments, acting Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought told officials that Trump asked him to explain these temporary policies regarding legislative branch travel.
Under no circumstances during a government shutdown will any government owned, rented, leased or chartered aircraft support any congressional delegation, without the express written approval of the White House chief of staff, Vought wrote. Nor will any funds appropriated to the Executive Branch be used for any congressional delegation travel expenses, without his express written approval.

It is astounding. I don’t think Trump will cave on this.
They are finished and don’t know it.
Todays announcement is a Trump masterstroke and just blew Nancys petty complaint off the headlines.
Just confirmed by the failing NYT!
Question. How can the Executive Branch dictate what the Legislative Branch can and cannot do?
Is it because Air Force travel falls squarely under the Executive Branch? What if Piglosi chartered a private plane on her government expense account?
I'm glad Trump did this, and evidently he has/had the authority to do so, but how?
What am I missing?
This is brilliant. She hasn’t just ruined the party for herself, but all of Congress.
How many congressmen will turn against Nancy, now that they are being impacted?

No. The point of this is that they should be in the capital working as opposed to taking taxpayer funded junkets.
When I was the senior court reporter for 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea, the courtroom was a Quonset hut at the top of the hill near the Division HQ. The heating and AC controls were in my office. In the winter, when the panel was deliberating, if it looked like they were taking up residence in the jury room, I would turn the heat off to that part of the building. In the summer, I would turn off the AC (I had windows and the jury deliberation room did not).
You'd be surprised at how quickly a jury can reach a judgment in their deliberations when the temperature outside is below zero.
The Bushes would have adopted her so Clinton could have a sister
Fake news is leading off with Cohens allegation.
Democrats arent making news even though were told the shutdown is a winning issue for them.
Oh really? Then why wont fake news talk about it?
Legislative branch doesnt have travel vehicles...ie airplanes. They have use of military vehicles and military airplane which is under of course the executive branch, the President. Legislative can use their own private vehicles and/or pay for their own travel
I would guess that what’s intended is that, if Congress wants to waste money on junkets, it has to do it on its own dime and not use DoD/executive branch. Sure, they can just vote themselves move administrative funds, but they’re going to have to explain that ...
Grab them by the junket, and then their hearts and minds will follow! ;-)

You aint seen nothin yet.
Wait til February!
This is why their political spin today was that they arranged for a "commercial" flight instead, but canceled the trip after the U.S. State Dept. "leaked" their travel plans.
They never had any intention of flying a real commercial flight over there.
I knew he’d be the best President in my lifetime, but he is great...Dad (DeplorableAmerican) said he is as good as Ronald Reagan.
Reagan fired 11,000 air traffic controllers all at once, for striking.
Trump needs to have his similar moment of immediate government personnel reduction, too.
Would they notice the water being turned off? They strike me as the type that don’t flush or wash their hands.
“On Tuesday, the President will recommend to HR that a RIF process be started for personnel considered non-essential.”
I hope you are right
