Good observation. Here is how to get around it. The minute the first hearing is set Pres. Trump invokes the 25th amendment saying he cannot carry out the office until he is exonerated. Pence becomes acting POTUS and carries out all duties, including naming justices for SCOTUS

That sounds like a quote about Michelle Obama. (Sounds like).

A lobectomy requires general anesthesia which requires intubation. What is the best predictor of a patient’s ability to be extubated? The Pulmonary Reserve. What is the pulmonary reserve of an 85 year old female. ZERO. What is the pulmonary reserve of an 85 year old female after a Left lower lobectomy? About 25% less. What is the probability of an 85 year old spending a month on a vent without getting pneumonia? Close to ZERO. She would have lived longer if they left her alone.

"And… That Ginsburg will retire in January."

I wish her a long and happy retirement.

My dad was 91 and in great health. He contacted pneumonia in January of 2009. He recovered but in March of 2009 he passed.

Yes I know the SMO, so what, but IF TRUE! This is the seminal SHTF moment for the democrat party. They are about to lose their power base, the judges. The democrat party has been trying their best to hide her health condition but it’s finally made it into the news. No wonder they wanted to postpone the the State of the Union. The SC attends and they knew that Ruth couldn’t make it. She might even be room temperature for all we know because the democrats have her well out of view. Look for a lefty judge to declare Nancy Pelosi President (according to my previous post) so they can impeach Kavanaugh and appoint Ruths replacement. Grab your gun and lock and load, this could very well be the start of the 2nd American Civil War

Considering her recent fall, breaking ribs and then the surgery removing part of one of her lungs, I consider this report of her having pneumonia as quite likely. As I’ve gotten older, the more I’ve noticed that folks I knew growing up have had pneumonia as the ultimate cause of death based upon other medical conditions weakening their overall resistance to it.

No Bert, she lost a lobe, LLL(left lower lobe) not the whole left lung. I have seen LLL resection estimated as losing 20% lung capacity.

I wish they were more forthcoming about RBG health. I think she has been a terrible SCJ and her views are far left per a book she authored: lower age of sexual consent to 12yrs, repeal the Mann act (criminilizes sex trafficking across state lines), legalize prostitution, bigamy or other multiple marriage, females & males drafted with equal combat responsibilities and many other hyper-feminist claptrap.

So much misery her ideas would cause and she has certainly legislated from the bench propelling the country leftward. I would be literally thrilled to have her retired but I do have some compassion for the straits she now faces with stage IV metastatic disease and diminished lung capacity at 85, 86 in March.

My mom fell and broke her thigh at age 86.
She had already had a hip replacement so the procedure
was much more complicated. She survived but her mental
deterioration began from that point.

RBG should do the right thing and resign.
The pressure on her to refrain from it must be intense.
I have my doubts about her competency at this point.
She may not even be able to make that kind of decision.
