Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, believes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be making a big mistake to postpone or disinvite President Trump from delivering the expected State of the Union address on Jan. 29, calling the move a terrible precedent to set.
"That's silly," Crenshaw said in an interview Wednesday. "Stop with the political stone-throwing and posturing. The president has every right to make his case just as they have every right to make their case."
"Everybody should go up and make their points and see which one is more convincing, and I think their side is far less convincing," said Crenshaw. "It's a terrible precedent to set to disinvite the president from the State of the Union."
The newly minted Texas congressman, 34, a former Navy SEAL who was seriously wounded in Iraq in 2012,........ said the move "turns the State of the Union into even more of a political charade than it already is every year, and that's not a good place to be."
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen shot back at Pelosi later Wednesday, saying that the department and the Secret Service are "fully prepared" to staff the address.

Nancy and her minions are very afraid of what Trump has to say and that he will have the American people behind him. It is going to be another night of the Dems sitting on their hands.
They are afraid that they will be shown as the buffoons that they really are. We all know that Officer Singh’s grieving widow and brother will be Trump’s special guest. The Dems are terrified of the results of their own hypocrisy.

Nothing in the constitution says the SOTU has to be before a joint session of congress. Hold a rally, present the SOTU directly to the people, dare the networks not to cover it, and then send the SOTU to congress in written form.
Set a new precedent, directly to the people.
Nancy will be sitting immediately behind PDJT during the address.
I have concern that her facial tics will be distracting.

I’d rather see DJT behind the desk in the Oval Office with all the angel parents and Officer Singh’s wife there deliever the SOTU address after a brief speech of why they are doing the event this way.

The Secret Service was never contacted by Nancy Pelosi’s office or other Democratic congressional leadership regarding their ability to protect the president, members of the administration and Congress during the State of the Union, according to a senior law enforcement official at the Department of Homeland Security.
The Democrats will do anything to destroy our nation. Cancelling the State of the Union Speech furthers that cause.
They are trying to destroy our culture and institutions.
They refuse to abide by Article IV Section 4. They denigrate our founding fathers. They do everything in their power to denigrate Christianity, Whites, and moral values. They have also come out and said that we have no sovereign right to control our immigration policies, or the very border that in part constitutes who we are as a nation and a people.
Here they are setting a precedent that sets the stage for parties to deny the President of the opposing party a platform to present a State of the Union address to Congress each January from here on out. And more importantly, it destroys the ability for the President to address the public telling them what his goals and plans are for the current year.
Once again, we have Democrats seeking to deny Trump the privileges of his office. This is still more evidence of the existence of a coup-like atmosphere in the capital.
They are fomenting war. They are going to starve our poor citizens rather than protect our country from foreign invasion.
There should be an FR rule that his photo must accompany any articles about him. He's a real cutie. They sure didn't look like that when I was a young girl. Didn't realize he was born in Aberdeen, Scotland.
