Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen undercut Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s justification for delaying the State of the Union speech, saying Wednesday that her department can handle security for the event even amid a government shutdown.
Ms. Nielsen, on Twitter, said the Secret Service is “fully prepared to support and secure the State of the Union.”
Earlier in the day Mrs. Pelosi had sent a letter to President Trump telling him to ditch the Jan. 29 date planned for his address to Congress and the country. She said that with the shutdown, she feared the government couldn’t guarantee security.

I think to be sure because you can never be too safe with our President, the Secret Service, FBI, CIA, NSA and Five Eyes should immediately investigate every member of Congress, their families and their friends to make sure there is no threat from any of them. A complete and thorough investigation including financial, political, personal using whatever tools necessary up to and including wire taps. This is the only way we can be sure!

I think President Trump had been complaining about her since May of last year that kirsten’s efforts on stopping the illegal invasion, which has resulted in numerous rapes and murders, is woefully inadequate.
The President reportedly wanted to fire her but she successfully played the gender card and wanted to hang on until at least December 6th, so she could be eligible for a Federal pension.
As Dec 6th grew near, the President stated she was starting to do the right thing and, of course, no one was fired.
Not sure President Trump would agree that a description of “patriot” is accurate.

The point of all this is to deny him the stage. They don’t want to him to address the country.
But I also think Pelosi may be scared. If Trump delivers this address, there will be certain wild members in her caucus that she won’t be able to restrain. They will boo or make a scene in some way. That not only would have bad optics, but it would force her to punish those members.

I think it’s also because they have something horrible to hide from the American people and they’re deathly afraid this president will expose all of their treasonous activities from this shame Russia investigation to the list of foreign countries that many of these Deep State traitors are collecting paychecks from. They have far more to lose than President Trump and they know it!
Then Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen next post is thanking ICE for their work on human trafficking. Which is goes against the Democrats hate on ICE and the boarder.
And a number of her skittish colleagues, especially those who won seats in Republican leaning districts, who may start clamoring to make a deal with the president. We know the president is gonna make some kind of speech and he’ll have San Fran Nan gripping big time over it.
The REAL reason she’s afraid to have a full SOTU is she doesn’t want the Abesense of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to be noticed or questioned.
He could hold the SOTU address at the Capital One Arena. According to Wiki, it seats 20,356 for basketball. Cram a few hundred seats on the floor and you’d have quite a sight for the address. The Wizards will be out of town on January 29th. So that would work, if needed.
AT&T Stadium could host the event. Its stated capacity is 80,000. I am part of an NFL attendance record of 105,121 people at that place. I’m sure a lot more folks could be shoehorned in there if needed.
Pelosi doesn’t want to be seen sitting behind the President, having to stand up for him, applaud even once for him. She is burning up with contempt.
Actually, as to the IF: The President is required to give a State of the Union speech/presentation.
Article II, Section 3
He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient;
