Only in California: Kate Steinle’s illegal alien murderer wants his gun possession charge overturned

The illegal alien let off the hook for the murder of San Francisco resident Kate Steinle in 2015 now wants additional leniency: He wants his gun possession charge overturned because, well, it’s just not fair.

You may recall there was no small amount of outrage when jurors in the case of Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, who stood accused of shooting and killing Steinle, failed to convict him even of manslaughter charges but, because they are such gun haters in California, decided instead to convict him of illegally possessing a firearm.

The CBS station in San Francisco called the verdict “shocking.” “Stunning,” said the San Francisco Chronicle.

Jim Steinle, Kate’s father, who was with her when she was killed, said he was “saddened and shocked,” the Chronicle reported. “Justice was rendered, but it was not served.”

Now, Zarate is even seeking to have his gun conviction overturned.

You’re right.
First it gets overturned.
Then his lawyers sue the people who indicted him, citing harassment and anti-alien racism. His emotional pain and suffering due to that racism is worth a few million.

I trust that God is watching all this.
May Kate Steinle be in heaven happily and far beyond this.

I’d give it back to him. Say here it is and when he reaches out for it, cut off his hands at the wrists. This stuff has gone way too far and this is the culmination of activist lawyers going beyond the pale. These ridicules legal challenges from asylum to demands for benefits is a direct attack on our nation. IMO, the time to start taking them out, both the lawyers and their clients.

As a gun-rights person, if this guy didn’t “commit a crime” by killing her, then why should he NOT be able to keep the gun? Although IIRC the gun was stolen - but if he wasn’t found guilty of theft - he should be able to keep the gun.

Of course in my mind he should have been convicted of murder, breaking into our country, and sentenced to death and dead by now.

It’s about some unscrupulous lawyer’s billable hours, even if there is no possibility of the case going anywhere. Whoever filed this couldn’t care less about his client. It’s all about milking the taxpayers. The fact that such a case can be filed says it all.
