Understanding Why the Deep State Had to Take Down General Michael Flynn

Does the American public really understand what happened to Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn? Highlights of the case have been thoroughly exploited by the shallow, left-leaning media as a convenient avenue to attack President Trump. But important elements of the story remain largely buried from public view.

The tragic political demise of this distinguished general who was President Trump's initial national security adviser, one of the key jobs in the White House, has been well documented. Former FBI director James Comey and the now disgraced upper echelon of the FBI and, subsequently, Special Counsel Robert Mueller maliciously trapped him, resulting in his ultimate prosecution and pleading guilty to lying to the FBI. Not only did Flynn lose an important and influential job in the White House, but they also bankrupted him with legal fees; threatened his family; and, worst of all, damaged the good name of a highly decorated military professional who served his country honorably and with distinction as a member of the American Intelligence Community.

The despicable and unethical attack on Flynn immediately after his appointment by Trump was just one element of a shameful Deep State campaign to discredit and destroy the Trump presidency. As Trump's national security adviser, Flynn had Trump's ear. He was potentially the Deep State's worst nightmare. Flynn knows in detail how the Intelligence Community and the FISA courts operate. With a 33-year military career, including heading up the Defense Intelligence Agency, Flynn was an existential threat to outgoing President Obama and his shameless and highly partisan CIA director, John Brennan, who cynically and criminally corrupted the Intelligence Community for political purposes on behalf of Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Flynn took himself down by running away — fearing the Democrats and McCain neocons — from Russian contacts that he had every right to make. He should have told the FBI: “I’ve had many pro-USA contacts with Russians. I can’t remember them all, but, if Trump will let me, I may have more.”

Years before Michael Flynn was nominated by Trump to be Nat. Sec. Adv. I saw him on TV ,he was in uniform and he mentioned in the interview he had been at war with Islam for ten years.

I immediately jumped up, pointed to the TV, and told my wife to take a good look a that General because you will never see him again on TV .

When Trump appointed Gen Flynn I was happy for this Kafir country, and I believe his undoing is somehow related to his correct view on Islam. - Tom

He should have said “terrorists” instead of Islam.

I also have no sympathy for a guy who runs around working for a "Make America Great Again" political campaign ... while at the same time working as a lobbyist in Washington for foreign interests.

Count me among the skeptics about this guy. There's a very good chance that his demise is an exercise in "swamp-draining" after all.

I wish our side would quit using the term “deep state” since we now know who the conspirators of the attempted coup are. The “deep state” term confers autonomy upon them (which they prefer) and casts our accusation in a “black helicopter” light to the uninformed.

To those who would find themselves in such a position:

DO NOT hire an attorney, as it is the path to financial ruin.

Plead the 5th and let them make their case.

USA nearly all sound asleep. Not a clue what a coup is. Not a clue that there is _no_ law enabling a special counsel. Mueller activities are un-constitutional, i.e., no law backing them.

I already understand. I have only read - conservatively, for we are conservatives, right? - thirty or so articles over the months, and cogitated upon them.

What will be done is the real issue.

The answer is, not justice.
