She owns the chamber and the invitation. He has no right to deliver it without her invitation.

This is one of the most uninformed statements that I've ever seen.

1. Piglosi doesn't "own" anything. Congress is a Representative body elected by the people. This isn't a dictatorship. We don't give "ownership" of any elected branch to any one person. We don't give "ownership" of the chamber to any one person. The President has every right to enter that Chamber regardless of Piglosi thinks.

2. The Constitution says that the address is delivered to a JOINT SESSION of Congress. Article II Section 3. "He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient." So pray tell where does the Senate fit into that picture? Does Senator McConnell "own" the Senate in your asinine world? What do we do with two "owners" who conflict here? I'll answer that for you, your original premise is wrong. Piglosi doesn't "own" squat.

3. What the Constitution doesn't say is WHERE it must be held. If we are following the text, the President can call the Joint Session on the White House lawn if he wants. Piglosi doesn't have a say in this. Tradition indicates that it is held in the chamber of the House, but that isn't a requirement. It's really just for convenience. The House chamber is much larger than the Senate chamber and has more seating. That's why it's held there. Not because the Constitution dictates such.

So give them the podium for their response( after a 15 minute break ) and have cameras on the crowd showing how quickly they can exit a stadium. By the time the Dem on the stage gets into full rant mode there probably will only be enough audience left to fill a table at Denny’s.

Or no break at all and have Occasional Cortex give the Dem response. Should be comedy gold.

This is a smart move on her part. I think he was going to announce this anyway, and this makes it sound like it’s her idea.

Have state of union as scheduled...

Yes have it. Marines provide security if necessary.

But directly point Nancy and Chuckie out every time he mentions their many obstructions on the border and other topics of interest.

Show them for who they are and tie them directly to it; until both of them get up and leave.

The President “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” Article II, Section 3, Clause 1.

I like the stadium idea.

Heh heh heh...

That’s already a given. If they haven’t boycotted it ab initio, and they don’t leave in a huff in the middle, Donald’s not doing his job. Give ‘em hell.

Trump should now make the address extra long, and make Nervous Nancy sit through it, without fidgeting.

Am I mistaken or isn’t the date of the SOTU written in the governing docs of the USA?

Article II, Section 3, Clause 1

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

That there would be a report to Congress, not the date. And Presidents initially made a written report, not one in person. I forget which president began delivering it in person.

Wilson was the one who revised the practice, but the first to give it in person was actually Washington. Washington and Adams gave their reports in person. Then Jefferson began giving it in writing, which continued for over a century.

Wilson's Republican successors had a much more modest view of the Presidency than he did, but unfortunately continued the practice of an in-person address and even expanded it to a public address. Ironically, the first to have his state of the union address broadcast to the whole nation was none other than "Silent Cal" Coolidge.

“They don’t want him to give the Address. They know that they will get slammed.“

President Trump is at his best with a live audience – even a hostile one like congress – and SanFranNan’s terrified Trump will lay out a crystal clear case for a wall as part of a comprehensive plan for border security, and it won’t be pretty for open borders democrats – more like, devastating for them.

She can withdraw her invitation. The President cannot enter the floor of the House without the permission of the Speaker.

Fxck Nancy! He can deliver the address to the Senate.
