FDR also had grilled hot dog luncheons for the press. He said it tasted a lot better than White House fare under Eleanor's direction.

I always have liked fast food. To coin a cliche, it doesn’t love me.

Comfort food. What’s not to like?

The famous Mrs. Nesbitt - FDR’s nemesis. She was the cook and housekeeper who served up bland food to the likes of Churchill. She wrote a delightful memoir of working in the White House.

Still, the sight of the fast-food cartons inside the stately White House dining room struck some observers on social media as incongruous — or lacking in hospitality for a celebration.

Just a little too American (ie: a little too common) to suit leftists who expect imported caviar, pâté, sushi, Wagyu beef and champagne at their free lunches.

When the taxpayers and lobbyists are paying lefties expect the very best.

Essential for some reason.

Jobs like that should be the first to get the chop.

Uh, when I was in High School, not matter what the sport, the tradition was that if you won a road game you got to stop at McDonalds on the way back to school after the game. At least that’s the way we did it. And we loved it.

There is one sorta near me..now I have to go there and get a sundae, but its raining outside so will just go a different day..In and Out is GREAT..LOVE their burgers and fries, but they dont have onion rings which is a shame. I used to go to Johnny Rockets but their service has dropped in the past few months(Especially the one near my house) prices are up and they give you less onion rings :( there is also the Burger Lounge, Organic meat, pretty good too but they dont give enough meat..no Tommys around me but they have a few Fatburgers, never had them though

The highlight of my (thankfully) very short career in the hospitality industry at a regional sit-down burger joint was when a bus would show up. Whether they were the winners or losers, the kids looked forward to that stop more than the game in some cases and everyone had a great time, including the workers. Fast food and sports are part of the great all American tradition Trump is fighting for.

That was just a political stunt to show that Roosevelts and British royalty were just aw-shucks plain folks just like the great unwashed.

Kudos to President Trump for handling the Clemson visit with humanity and good humor. I bet they had a blast.

“Why is the Centers for DISEASE Control and Prevention involved in keeping tabs of fast food?”

Well, that ebola, drug-resistant TB, MRSA, and all the other gifts imported from the turd world is scary. Also fraught with political danger.
