Earth’s magnetic field is what allows us to exist. It deflects harmful radiation. It keeps our water and atmosphere in place. But now it’s acting up — and nobody knows why. Planet Earth is alive. Deep beneath its skin, its life blood — rivers of molten iron — pulse around its core. And this mobile iron is what generates the magnetic field that causes auroras — and keeps us alive.
But, according to the science journal Nature, something strange is going on deep down below.
It’s causing the magnetic North Pole to ‘skitter’ away from Canada, towards Siberia.

Yup, first I read the Inuit had noticed something was amiss because seasonally when they slaughtered seals they did so when sunrise was at a specific point between two mountains (sort of their calendar). They noticed sunrise was deviating to the right over time until eventually it had shifted dramatically. Then airplanes have to re-set their compass to true north daily as it shifts a bit daily, so over time I figure the equator will be at the North Pole and generations from now archaeologists will be marveling at tropical wildlife/plants being dug out of the ice at the new north pole, like they presently do digging out wooly mammoths at the north pole and tropical foliage preserved in ice out of the north pole now. Hope it is a long slow process and we don’t go hurtling there at warp speed in the future.

They aren’t stealing it. It was part of the deal made with Russia in order to elect Trump. He gave them the North Pole, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, and Obama’s birth certificate in exchange for their help on the election. The Russians gave all their super delegates to Hillary, tons of vodka to Hillary and a new house to Bernie. They also threw in their assistance to elect a complete moron named accidental Cotex from the Bronx. So obvious to us all.

Well as it gets closer to the geographic NP magnetic compasses should be more accurate as long as the magnetic force doesn’t diminish too much.

To Liberals, this is NOT Trump’s fault. Like Global Warming, it is normal, but I bet you’ll think that if you tax us, you can solve it. Just like Global Warming, you can’t tax something normal in nature to ‘fix’ it.

True. Maps and software programs need to get their declination angles updated as it moves.
It is just creeping by the Geographic NP. Just about its nearest point as it passes over toward the Siberian side. The dot in the center of the circles designates Geographic NP.
Yup. Old Planet Earth doesn’t give fig about us or anything living on it. It does what it does. And I’d be more concerned about we humans and what we do to each other, at least we have some control over that. Can’’t control the planet. Any more then we can control the climate, what nonsense that is. And I would be very more concerned about some big hunk of iron slamming into us, that has happened, does happen and will happen again.
