Pictures shared on social media show fire engines swarmed the area with reports a number of people have been injured
MULTIPLE people are reported to have been injured after a massive explosion rocked Paris this morning.
Police confirmed a blast had taken place on Saturday morning on Rue de Treviso the 9th district of the French capital.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known, however there are reports that it was due to a gas leak in a bakery.

Planet small bomb as cause gas leak.
Yep no one would ever think of that.
A bakery, eh?
I guess someone’s not getting their croissants today....
Yep no one would ever think of that.
But what is the point?
Terrorism is worthless as a weapon if people believe the explosion was a gas leak. Which is why terrorist are quick to claim credit when they do something.
I am not saying it isn’t terrorism, but at this point in time and with the information we have, I lean towards gas leak.
He says he saw a huge fireball . Gas leak my ass
So am I but the cause of the leak is the question.
“quite a concussion blast - glass 2 blocks away and car flipped? big bakery”
We had a gas leak/explosion in March of 2009. It was snowing at my house - four miles from the blast - and I literally thought a car had run into my house the BOOM was so loud. I went out and all was well but I could hear sirens in the distance.
And if it really is terrorism, that IS the point!
No society is more that three meals from a revolt, and the croissant was invented specifically to celebrate a victory over muslim forces...
“Govt false flag? Remember Reichstag.”
I’ve been waiting for another ‘mass’ shooting to compliment the gun-control push around the nation.
Did the bakery refuse to cater to homosexual wedding planners?
My old college town newspaper! Never see that on FR.
Yes. It does.
I watched that livestream for a while. I like how he was so certain it was a terrorist attack, and how this was his first time.
It could have been a bomb, but an accidental gas explosion is more likely.

It shows the inexperience of a "citizen journalist" as he calls himself. It is owing to lack of formal journalism training.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, it was a very emotional and horrific thing for him to have seen.
There was some of the things he said that stuck with me (as close as I can remember them).
- "There is a guy walking in a daze barefoot through broken glass"
- "That woman over there has no clothes one (ripped off her body by the blast). Someone has given her a coat to put around her."
- "There are people covered in a lot of blood."
AND....to his credit, he was very concerned about not invading their privacy at a very horrible moment, like not showing the woman and the injured.
What he got wrong was only his jumping to a conclusion it was terrorist attack I think.
Do you agree with my assessment?
The is because he was purposely not showing the victims out of, as he put it, a respect for their privacy.
Good points. I was thinking of CNN types and how they hype everything.
just an update - the reason the streamer saw the emerg. vehicles there was there were already firefighters on site checking out reports of a gas leak, during which there was the blast. Two firefighters deceased in the blast, a few more injured. Here’s the follow-on:
