Medved was a “former” Democrat. Big fan of Mitt Romney.

Medved was a campaign staffer for a hard Left candidate in the 1970s.

Medved spoke out against calling the opposition Marxists and Socialists saying it didn't advance any discussion in the political arena. Never heard him slam anyone on the Left calling Bush, police, Trump, evangelicals, etc “Fascists”.

There was always a creepy vibe when I would listen to him.
Part Mr Rogers..part movie critic ..part something I could not quite place.

Gorka is great, but eventually the Left will find something about him, and his Darth Vader voice (due to his accent) will make it more likely to stick.

If you just added up issues, Medved would be conservative. He articulates opposition to abortion about as well as anyone on our side and is with us on most issues. HOWEVER, being Open Borders is a non-starter - lose the border/immigration fight, and none of the other issues even matter, since that gives the Democrats their permanent majority and simply impose their will on EVERY ISSUE, and we would be powerless to stop them. And then Trump...same disease as the other Never Trumpers - they simply cannot understand that what a president actually DOES in office is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than whether he is liked by the media, his political opponents, or other world leaders. They seem to hate Trump because they’re embarrassed by him - and they just forget that Trump is doing EVERYTHING they’ve demanded of Republicans, their entire political lifetimes.

Unlike another Jewish leftist turned right, David Horowitz, Medved fails to appreciate the true nature of the hard left that is driving the Democratic Party today. He still speaks as if it’s January of 1968 and the dems are mostly Hubert Humphrey and Robert Kennedy types. He debates as if he’s still selling encyclopedias at the county fair, instead of realizing that the debate will soon end with he and his ilk being declared enemies of the people with appropriate punishment in the gulag if the battle is lost.

His disdain for Trump makes me think that if he had been in the White House in 1861 that he would have sacked Grant before he took Fort Donelson. McClellan would have been his man till the end.

One seemingly unimportant statement he made betrays his timid approach that guarantees defeat. On October 2, 2014 Medved told a caller that there was “no chance” the Washington Redskins would be playing using that name in five years time. This prediction shows how he is always ready to capitulate without a fight.

Medved also knew Hillary Clinton going back to their college days.

He might be the most conservative guy in Seattle.

Medved was unlistenable. As a never Trumper he tossed all logic out the window and started to oppose everything Trump did, even things Medved said he liked. Any praise was grudging and came with a backhanded complement. Either he was lying about being a conservative the whole time or he’s unhinged. Either way, unlistenable.

The redskins thing is a perfect example of the NPC phenomenon. Nobody cared that they were called the Redskins. Nobody but a few activists and everyone just rolled their eyes when they would complain.

Then the NPC instruction center beamed down a new set of order, Redskins must be changed. Boom! Overnight NPCs started calling it "Washington Football Team" and calling them the Racists. Even broadcasters were avoiding calling them their real name. The moral outrage was loud and relentless.

But the skins didn't change the name and the NPC instruction center moved on to other things. Without orders from above, these people who were morally outraged suddenly didn't care anymore and went back to using "Redskins" and not crying about how racist it was.

What better example is there of how these sorts of people are incapable of independent thought? They said it was a core principle of theirs but as soon as the papers gave it up, that was over.

Following up: I listed to Gorka a bit this afternoon, what a difference! He was enthusiastically making the case (along with guests) for Trump to use the military to build the wall if need be. I imagined that had I found Medved there he'd be saying something like this: "Look, this shutdown can't continue and it's very clear that the democrats are not going to move. This is an opportunity for the President to demonstrate that he's the adult in the room and open the government and THEN reach out and build support for his wall. He has the power to look Presidential by ending this now, and he should."

Gah, I feel like I need a shower after channeling Michael Medved.

His reviews were tolerable. His politics were not.

He is the Jewish analog to the traditional, but not conservative, Baptists. The leftist media loves to deride them as being conservative troglodytes, but many or most are merely traditional yet “liberal” Democrats (or fanatical yet “liberal” Democrats like Westborough).

I have been in ministry, and am well acquainted with most denominations. I know whereof I speak.
