It seems to be limited to Mexico City (DF).
I have to say it is a tribute to AMLO that he is willing to take the hit when he shut down the illegal theft.
I suspect when the smoke settles Gasoline prices will lower in Mexico (they are around $5/gallon).
I hope so.
At least it is a government controlled operation to bring about financial solvency.
Many people think that it "Can't happen here" in the USA (gas shortage).
But they forget huricane Irma that flushed much of the population of Florida northward.
The folks in South Flrida were told to evacuate- quickest way was by overland by driving into Tampa / Orlando area.
Then the hurricane moved northward towards Tampa / Orlando area,
and travlers and temporary residents found their hotels and motels were closing due to concerns about liability.
Gas stations couldn't get resupplied, and most stations limited gasoline purchases to 5 gallons,
and many stations gasoline was at 'gouging prices' since demnd exceeded supply.
And now even more people were flushed even further north into Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas.
Then, even the Florida Governor was concerned as gas delivery trucks were having a problems traveling to resupply gasoline stations
even to the point of having law enforcement accompany delivery trucks to assure safe passage.
What I am saying is that supply couldn't keep up with the demand; it already did happen here in the USA.
Also, most consumers don't realize that there is an occupational shortage of truck drivers here in this country.
Fortunately, much of our fuel travels by underground pipeline, but still needs truck drivers to deliver to most gasoline service stations.
