The Scientific Experts Who Hate Science

This week, the American Psychological Association proved once again that it is a political body rather than a scientific one. It has done it before -- in 2013, it reclassified "gender identity disorder" in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, calling it "gender dysphoria" and then explaining that living with the delusion that you are a member of the opposite sex is not actually a mental disorder at all. That ruling was based on zero scientific evidence -- much like the original DSM-5 classification of pedophilia as a "sexual orientation" before it was renamed "pedophilic disorder" under public pressure.

The latest example of the APA's political hackery concerns the topic of "traditional masculinity." In the APA journal, it announced that it had released new guidelines to "help psychologists work with men and boys." Those guidelines suggest that "40 years of research" show that "traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage that echoes both inwardly and outwardly." The APA explains that "traditional masculinity -- marked by stoicism, competitiveness, dominance and aggression -- is, on the whole, harmful. Men socialized in this way are less likely to engage in healthy behaviors."

He may have had one but he was a serving military officer. He went by that title. That is the proper protocol. (Anyway its a TV show!) I know military officer with PhDs. If still in uniform I never call them Dr Captain, Colonel or General (or Captain, Colonel or General Dr!), if out of uniform then Dr so-n-so.

It is not wrong to call a military officer who has a Ph.D. "Doctor." I have a Ph.D., and really am not offended if someone calls me "Doctor." But the majority of people call me by my rank. One woman used to come into my office saying, "Doctor (exDemMom)! Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! MAJOR, I meant to say MAJOR!"

Still this is a very menacing trend and one I truly never thought would ever appear in this country.

I realized that going the path of Germany (or any other totalitarian socialist dictatorship) is possible in the US when Bill Clinton was elected president. He was bad. The left has only become more bold and evil since.

I suppose this turd Dr. Ryon McDermott, Ph.D. never heard of or read an account of ‘The Birkenhead Drill” but he would certainly consider it an example of traditional masculinity casting a dominance net over women and children. That is how morally twisted these people are.

One of my assignments was at a research base that had a lot of former German "rocket scientists," who became American citizens. A friend used to address me, jokingly, as "Herr Doctor Professor Colonel." True, I did qualify for all 3 titles, but that was laying it on a bit thick.

As Kipling wrote, "To stand and be still for the Birkenhead drill is a damn tough bullet to chew." But it's a good example of what it SHOULD mean to be a man.
