A suspect has reportedly been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Jazmine Barnes, a 7-year-old Texas girl who was struck by a bullet while traveling in a car with her family on Dec. 30.
A second suspect may be in custody as well, multiple sources told Houston’s FOX 26.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office issued a Twitter message saying only that the case had "taken a new direction," with "persons of interest" being interviewed...l
...Police earlier this week released an artist’s sketch of a possible suspect, but KTRK reported that sources said the suspect who was apprehended does not resemble the drawing.

If Jazmine was not at all involved, why did her daughter lie about the color of the shooter’s eyes?

Jazmine is the deceased little girl. There are a number of reasons the mother might have told the other daughter to lie, including simply attributing all crime to white people, because why not?
However, the mother might very well have some involvement with the gang hostilities that resulted in her daughter’s death without having been the intended target at this particular time. In my opinion, the most likely possibility is that the baby-mama of some gang member was targeted, but the murderer got the baby-mamas mixed up.
From the article at Fox they were together when the news of the girls death broke and decided then and there to ante up the cash for the funeral, so yeah, the cops were looking for a white guy at the time.
The mother should be scrutinized for giving the police false information during an investiation.

To be both consistent and fair, he should do this for every black family member killed at the hands of a black criminal.
When the white girl does it, it is usually to direct attention away from her boyfriend, father, etc. I am guessing that the mom knows exactly who the killer is and she has a part in it at some level.
The daughter is 15. She could be gang related out right.

The ‘blue eyes’ was a giveaway that the girl was lying. She’s been listening to to much NoI “Blue eyed debbles”.
Maybe the Baby Momma knows the shooter, and knows that the Gentleman of Color identifies as White. After all, if self identification rather than personal plumbing identifies gender, then self identification rather than skin color and facial features can identify race.
