Since the 1990s, eligible voters in the country of Mexico (i.e., persons of age 18 or greater) have had to visit an electoral office and be registered into the electoral census in order to obtain a voting card issued by the National Electoral Institute (formerly the Federal Electoral Institute).
Those voting cards are government-issued photo IDs, credentials that citizens are required to produce at polling stations in order to vote in federal elections in Mexico.
The United States has no equivalent national voter requirements or voter ID card, however. Some states require voters to produce photo IDs in order to vote, while others don’t. And even the states that do require photo IDs may still allow voters lacking them to use other means of documenting their identities and/or to cast provisional ballots.

Well, in the US there isn't much you can do without a Social Security number. My cable company and my phone company seem to know it. Same for the bank.
Although, illegals seem to manage.
Ditto strict voting rules in Honduras (a banana republic).
In USA? I have never been asked to prove my citizenship in 46 years of voting from 3 different states of residency and I did not even become naturalized citizen until 48 years ago.
Forget Mexico and their federally issued ID. The world’s most populous democracy has issued 800 Million voter ID’s with photo, must have to vote.
Social security numbers are stolen every day. Do you think your doctor’s office checks if your SS # is legitimate?

I remember the first time I asked a guy for an ID, and he produced one of those ‘Matricula’ cards. I just wrote down the number, and hoped it worked.

There is stupidity in not showing proof of identity.. it’s strictly so the left can control the votes.
I have to show my ID to vote in GA. the left doesn’t even use a legit excuse to not show an ID.. how they win this argument is behond me. There is too much ‘whatever’ among the right side and the left side is hell bent on getting their way.
That’s not a very persuasive argument in favor of voter i.d.
Take a look at the back of one of these voter IDs and it’s even MORE mind-blowing.
It’s IDs like that which allow what just happened in Brazil. The Dems know they cannot win in a fair vote...so they force us to use the honor system, and then cheat like rabbits.
The Mexican National Voter ID could never be adopted by the United States, it only has two sexes.

Nobody ever claimed that mexicans were too stupid to get IDs
Mexico doesn’t have a political party that would counterfeit voter IDs by the thousands.
