Xi has issued public remarks on several occasions this week first to herald in the new year, then to issue threats to Taiwan to surrender to Chinese rule or expect military action. In that speech, Xi stated, we make no promise to abandon the use of force, and retain the option of taking all necessary measures, he also said, according to the Times. Reunification is a historical trend and it is the right path. Taiwan independence is an adverse current of history and is a dead end, Xi said, adding a subtle note to the United States that foreign interference is intolerable.

The winds of war? I doubt it, the cost would be unimaginable on both sides. More likely china gets isolated and then internal forces take over. But who knows.
Uh oh.
We need to answer, unambiguously, that any military attack on Taiwan will result in a US military response.
We sent the wrong signal to Saddam back in July of 1990, and we should be unequivocal now. He thought Kuwait was Iraq’s, and thought foreign intervention was intolerable, too.
Be upfront, plain and simple.

Invite the Dalai Lama for an official visit to the White house.
(Obama let The Dalai Lama into the then White Hut through the back door portico service entrance to the White Hut, surrounded by fly ridden garbage bags, a wrong that PDJT can make right,)
What I just can’t figure out is where China is getting all that money to modernize its military. It’s a mystery! I think I’ll do some Google research on that later.
But now I’m off to Walmart to pick up $50 worth of cheap, foreign-made items.
Taiwan almost certainly has nuclear weapons and the ability to deliver them accurately.
“The winds of war? I doubt it, the cost would be unimaginable on both sides. “
Remember how WWI started over a minor event and the incalculable misery it cost.
Peaceful Reunification is a historical trend and it is the right path.”
“money to modernize its military”
It takes more than money and they got money and skill.
Sense is in short supply worldwide it seems.
Some parts of one kind were accidentally shipped to Taiwan a long time ago, but they were returned according to official word both countries. Taiwan’s problem with having nukes is that the island is a small area for survivability in a nuclear exchange, compared to, for example, our own country. Also, Taiwan has trustworthy allies with nukes.
.
Taiwan has the legitimate free state government of China.
Perhaps we need to assist them?
.
Let Xi fume. No response necessary. In the end he will be the one making a fool out of himself as he already started by these statements.
Sure, just sail into Mexico and you can walk right in.
Block Chinese/ PRC tourism to Hawaii for awhile . They are pouring in and God only knows what some could be up to .
Here is what is going to happen. Democrats will lay a trap that will sucker trump into Military action through siding with China os this, and they may even reach out to Xi and tell him that they will support his actions, and when Trump defends Taiwan Democrats will accuse Trump of being a war monger, a hater and block his actions and block aid to Taiwan
JMHO
What does that have to do with what we were talking about, which is how relatively insignificant events can snowball into a catastrophe nobody wanted.
And the number of people and treasure we lost was a pittance compared to the millions lost by Russia, Germany, France, Britain... We actually came out pretty good from that war. All the old powers were on their knees and we took over. Lesson learned - if you’re going to join a war, do it at the last minute when all the other combatants are exhausted and ready to keel over.
When will Free Traitors realize they created a Chinese monster and jump off a tall building en masse? Why do we still trade with these Reds and support their economy?
April Glaspie. She was the one who sent the wrong signal to Saddam:

Her message to Saddam was apparently initiated by James Baker. It resulted in Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to turn the whole world upside down for decades.
Free Traitors: “No matter what the ChiComs do we can’t upset trade because if we do one pair of pliers will cost $5,444.00, iphones will be $10,000 each!!!!!
