Or beaver camp. 18 year old male recruits know.
OK - maybe stationed in stateside bases; but on field exercises, combat situations, holding in bivouac areas - you name it - it will not work. Efficiency and morale will be seriously affected.
If women can’t do the same number of push up and pull ups it’s because of patriarchal misogynists and an antiquated social construct.
My ex-BIL was in the last all-male class at the Air Force academy. They wanted to have LCWB engraved on their class rings, but someone found out and nixed it. LCWB stood for Last Class With Balls.
Slow down the runs to the lowest common denominator.
Leftovers from Mattis I suppose. Although one would have to add that Trump is the CiC, selected Mattis as Defense Secretary and kept him in that position for two years. So perhaps Trump is OK with it.
Won’t work. Will produce a few romances and sexual harassment claims.
Not a good idea.

I commonly drop this in FB: The average man can break the average woman in half. The average very fit man can break the average very fit woman in half. To pretend otherwise is to deny science, to mock biology, and to risk harm to women.
Everything we can think of can go wrong and a whole lot more.
Problems can occur.
It’s like chewing gum in class, “did you bring enough for everyone?”
Standing in the corner with gum on your nose may not encourage discipline LOL
Push-ups may suddenly become fun!
All the ribald old running chants will now be PC?
I don't know, but I've been told..........
They also said this was a one time deal (hope so) to save all that money.
As the first female JAG on Fort Leonard Wood MO, I don’t think this is gonna work.
Wonder how long before the first one claims rape or sexual harassment?
You know it’s going to happen.
You can thank Mattis for that one too. Not a fan. Good ridence. As a former Marine that is a strong comment on my behalf, but I stick to it!!!
Just because a BAM platoon is now, ADMINISTRATIVELY, in a male recruit battalion, it is not the Leftist wet dream of gender-blind equality that ABC is trying to sell.
Recruit platoons are as separate as distant islands. I can recall one time when I was within 50 yards of recruits in another platoon. During close combat training, with pugil sticks, we had bouts with other platoons. I had a piece of rubber hose, that represented a knife, and went up against a fat body from another platoon, with a stick, that was at least 6'-2". I rushed him and wailed on his ass with the hose, jerked away his stick, and hit him with the point, as hard as I could, right in the crotch. I was going for his face when they stopped the fight.
He went down like a dropped condom...
Only time we interacted with another platoon.
I went to Jump School at Ft Benning in June 1974 and they had the first females parachutists training with us, so to speak. Just like the USMC, the girls had their own group of a few and an equal number of black hats to train them. I remember they didn’t train as hard as the men. By 1988 the Army had decided that there should be no more washouts in Jump School so they turned it into a parachutist course designed to maximize training dollars - everyone who went should graduate. Leave it to Basic Combat Training to separate the men from the boys....
