Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is used to sparring with the best of 'em in Congress, so he had no problem clapping back at Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-MA) attacks on Twitter Friday. Warren, who recently announced her plans to run for president in 2020, for some reason picked a fight with the now former representative over his career change. Gowdy recently announced his plans to work for Nelson Mullins, a South Carolina-based law and lobbying firm. He had previously worked at the firm until 1994.
Aha! Sen. Warren said on Twitter (paraphrasing).

Warren used the opportunity to call for "a lifetime ban on lobbying for members of Congress." That way, the likes of Rep. Gowdy and former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) can't use the guise of public service "to enrich themselves."
Gowdy corrected her, while simultaneously mocking her recent Instagram video in which she answered her fans' questions while cracking open a beer.

Gowdy was pleased to make the announcement about his return to Nelson Mullins on Thursday.
“I am very excited to join Nelson Mullins, a firm with a rich, deep, and diverse team of talented attorneys and a reputation for excellence in all facets of the law,” he said in a statement.
As some noted, Warren's breathless exposé is really a non-story.

Trey left Congress ss because he realized he was unable to prosecute crimes being done, ANY prosecutor would have done the same evidence being destroyed, evidence not being turned over, 5 minute intervals to question a perp I would have left also Trey is a GREAT prosecutor with his hand BOUND AND TIED!!! I wonder if it is illegal for him to come out with evidence he has seen!!! I imagine it is!!!!

Warren is just a moving target for the Dems to see what the political climate temperature is in general. So best to hold their fire this early as she really isn’t a treat......yet.
They’re ‘playing’ with her for now.......I tend to think she’ll be put on the backburner once things get really moving For now she’s ‘fun’ and ‘entertaining’ their base immigrant voters and the media loves the stories.
I suspect they’ll then drag her out when needed down the road. She is sooooo easily used as well as shut down by the Dems. .... The only ones I’ve seen her be inclusive with are a few in the black caucus and of course with the new Islamic squad. She’s got Bernie’s old latino funding so she’ll be supported for a time.
