Police were searching for a gunman early Saturday after three people died in a shooting at a bowling alley near Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported just before midnight local time (3 a.m. ET), Torrance police said in a statement. The city is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Officers and fire officials arrived at Gable House Bowl to find multiple people wounded.
Two men were taken to hospital for treatment while two other men sought medical attention on their own. None of the injured were employees of the venue.
The three men killed were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Police have launched a homicide investigation, but no word on possible suspects or motive have been released.
Just because they’re black doesn’t mean they are criminals. Remember that black security guard who was holding a bad guy at gunpoint, and was simply shot dead without provocation by arriving police officers, in Chicago?
Sometimes innocent, or even heroic, black men get murdered.
Unless and until their criminal records or activities get revealed, it would be best to not mock them nor assume criminality on their part. Remember that this is Los Angeles, where defensive laws strongly disfavor good people.
1 that I know of.
When they do it will probably prove to be more than one shooter. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess gangs are in there somewhere.
"Police said three men died at the scene and four male victims were injured, two of whom were transported to a local hospital for unknown injuries. The other two injured victims were struck by gunfire but opted to seek their own medical attention, police spokesman Sgt Ronald Harris said.
Authorities did not immediately release details about what caused the shooting, but witnesses said it stemmed from a fight between two large groups of people. Investigators were trying to identify the suspects and whoever else was involved, said Harris, adding: Our hearts go out to the families who lost loved ones during this incident."
Um really? I live here in Torrance. Pretty expensive area for gangs. Yes we live next to a lot of rif/raf cities. The Torrance PO area, actually LA City, is where the trouble for Torrance is. The undesirable do come into our town but they usually get caught. Torrance PD is pretty good. Well except for when they “helped” the Newspaper delivery ladies and surfer a few years ago. Whoops!
It damned well is at a Torrance bowling alley at 3 a.m.
Not just a bowling ally
ya, sounds gang related...
Can’t believe all the bad mouthing about other races on FR. The dead people could have just been out having fun at the bowling alley. I mean really! Torrance is a mixed city of all races. Wait to find out who did this before judging everyone. The Gable House is only a few minutes from my home.
Did you read the story?
“The Torrance Police Department responded to calls of “shots fired” at the Gable House Bowl shortly before midnight.”
Local news reported that a fight broke out among a group of women and then escalated. One of the victims was apparently trying to break it up when a gunman or gunmen suddenly opened fire. There were a lot of shots fired and chaos ensued as people tried to escape. The police are still trying to figure the whole thing out. Nobody has been arrested. The shooter(s) have not been identified.
The NBC story says shortly before 3am EDT! East coast story.
It is. Been there many times with my family and drive by there daily.
I went to a rumble and a hockey game broke out.
Three a.m. my time, sir.
I could have cleared that up for you if you’d asked.
So you were there?
Glad you were not there!
So do you hang out there after 3 a.m. (EST) often?
You carry a piece?
If I make the trip what time would you say a fella like me should ease on out?
BTW how do you presume to know my race and color?
Good for you, sir. Three a.m. in St. Pete.
Are we straight on that now?

This “reporting” is a perfect example of how the left goes out its way to not inform the public! Where are the names and descriptions of those involved. This goes all the way to the governors house. They won’t even tell us the citizenship of those in prison or jail anymore. Here let me guess two groups of gangbangers, one Hispanic and one Black got into it over someone “staring” at the other.........
Substitute "CA" with almost any Democrat run city and the statement would still be correct.
My family lives in Torrance. In a weird coincidence, my son went bowling last night, but much earlier, and actually at a different bowling alley in a sketchier part of town.
Our radio KNX 1070 reported that Gable House has a “Rock’n’Glow” karaoke party thing going after the regular evening bowling hours conclude. One guy interviewed says he and his buddies go there after work on Fridays almost every weekend. When somebody came into the karaoke room and said there had been shots fired, his friend immediately turned over a table for them to hide behind. The person interviewed made it home unharmed, but said he saw a lot of crying women, and that image was staying with him.
Gable House is the local “family” bowling alley. I didn’t know what kind of after-hours scene they offered. People would definitely feel safe going there, and would not expect trouble.
Torrance PD once told our neighborhood watch group that we have no gang territory in Torrance. There are gang members, but no particular gang can claim this as their turf.
Our population is, IIRC, about 40% white, 40% asian, and the rest black and hispanic. However, on Hawthorne Blvd., the businesses are frequented by people from neighboring cities that do not have the shopping, restaurants, movies, etc., that Torrance has. Usually, it looks to me like very middle class people of color— nicely dressed for a night out with family or friends. Not thugs.
