Newly elected Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema refused to be sworn in on a Bible, opting, instead, to place her right hand on a book of laws, including the U.S Constitution and the Arizona Constitution.
The book Sen. Sinema placed her hand on to be sworn in came from the Library of Congress, her office told the Arizona Republic.

From Flake and McNoname to this. Think we’ll really notice any difference?
“I think what JJoto is saying is that its misleading to think that the Bible is constitutionally mandated for the swearing in, when according to the article excerpted it is not.”
How would that make the article misleading?
On the contrary, Im trying to clarify your position. You said it was sad that individuals have freedom from religion. What specific freedoms are you speaking of, and do you wish them to be taken away?
She’s not a Christian, so why would she be sworn in on a Bible?
Sure, in the same way HIV is better than diaper rash. Flake voted the right way 90% of the time, you’ll be lucky to get 10% out of this beeoch.
“Wards Primary vote total with Arpaios vote total do not together make up the vote total of McSally.”
That’s fine! The cold hard fact of the matter was that Arpaio was running as a spoiler, because there was no way he’d be elected. In retrospect, we really have no way to reconstruct what might have happened if he had not run. Ward was right on the issues, unlike RINO McSally, but the problem with conservatives always is the “squish” in the GOP that really aren’t to the right of center in the first place. And the other issue may well be that AZ is turning blue by way of Maricopa County. My BIL used to live in the western part of Phoenix. Ten years ago or so, he found it necessary to move out to Peoria because of the nightly gunfire in his old neighborhood. Like most major cities, Phoenix has become a Mexican $hit hole, but it does have the votes to probably control the rest of the state.
I love religion. But there isnt a religious reason for swearing in to an elected position. It could well be the Constitution they are going to uphold.
Devil worshipper? Its very possible these days and would explain some of her positions.
Don’t blame her. Would have burned her.
Arizonans did it to themselves! They knew what she is when they voted for her. Much of this was ‘getting’ Trump for ‘disrespecting’ the late McCain .. and now they will pay for it for at least 6 years. Truth to tell, she’s no worse than Flake, and at least she’s not claiming an “R” behind her name as he did.
Arizona voters either did not know Sinema is openly bi-sexual -or- they accept abnormal sexuality.
Seems like a slam dunk election to me. McNally really blew it. Bigly.
WHOA!
Democrats ARE nutcases!
It takes a lot of Arizona sluts to elect an Arizona slut.
Its like a hold my beer moment for those who voted for her/it.
