Today the roles of Bob Corker and Jeff Flake will be played by the freshman Senator from Utah, Willard Mitt Romney. Romney is previously known for playing the role of Brutus in the play Julius Caesar
Perhaps President Trump should be as wary of entering the Senate chambers as Julius Caesar should have been that fateful day in the Roman Senate. While Trump’s physical safety is assured, character assassins like Romney await. Romney, the 2012 loser, has trashed Trump, the 2016 winner, in a Washington Post Op-ed, President Trump’s stability and competence, in the process demonstrating Romney’s lack of both:
It is well known that Donald Trump was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination. After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name-calling. It did not. When he won the election, I hoped he would rise to the occasion. His early appointments of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, Kelly and Mattis were encouraging. But, on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.
Somehow Willard forget appointments like Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, appointments to the Supreme Court that will affect the course of this nation and our democracy for generations, not just until the next election. Romney forgets that the first duty of a statesman is to get elected. Running your campaign like you are running for class president is a losing strategy for presidential politics. Running one like you are in a bar fight for the future of this nation as Trump did is a winner. I want Trump on my side in a bar fight.

like most of the gop establishment, Mitt likes to lose graciously. Trump fights, they do not even put up a mild struggle.
Did anyone really expect anything different from Mitt Romney?
Trump has to stop endorsing these Swamp Creatures.
"The so-called "testy" and unpresidential interview response on Fox follows several others in the past. What could have been a "teaching moment" for youth on the merits of freedom of individual enterprise and liberty, turned into a petty self-focus and plays right into Obama's campaign narrative on the 1% for an Obama-Romney fight.
Romney's campaign words focus on issues, without grounding in principles.
Will some supporter of Romney provide real examples from his own words, prior to this campaign, which provide proof that he has incorporated the principles underlying our Declaration of Independence and Constitution into his speeches and actions over the past several decades?
If not, then what is it that makes them believe Romney to be the most qualified candidate to take on an incumbent President whose entire adult life has been dedicated to the principles of redistribution and government rule over people?
It's one thing to argue about issues. Anyone can do that.
What's required between now and November is a patriot who can articulate, explain, and defend the principles essential to freedom for individuals in a society.
That's why ordinary people are not convinced that Romney should be the one person standing between their grandchildren's imminent descent into slavery to government, as opposed to a new day of freedom for rising generations.
Oh, how we need a Washington or a Jefferson!
Nothing seems to have changed as it pertains to Romney's potential for leadership in Constitutional principle--just "testy" responses and sound bites for TV!
While perhaps not Washington or Jefferson, Trump does seem to understand that government and government officials are not sufficient barriers against tyranny. "The People" and their engagement are essential to preserving that liberty.
Yeah, when I saw this title, I thought “Et Tu” implies that you get stabbed in the back, you expected something different...a friend, ally, supporter, protector, etc.
Nobody ever said “Et Tu, Flake” or “Et Tu, McCain”...
We freepers have to ignore this loser. He has to be marginalized.
Of interest is even WoPo had a hit piece out against this jerk. Seems hardly anyone is supporting this loser.
Back in 2012 it was put out that this guy helped get Staples going, which is where I buy most office supplies. I can’t go near the place anymore.
“Et tu” should be reserved for a surprise traitor who stabs you in the back. A continuous GOP traitor like Mitt does not deserve that phrase as backstabbing is his modus operandi.
The “Et tu” line usually is applied to someone who was on your side initially. Mitt was never on Trump’s side, notwithstanding Mitt groveling for Trump’s endorsement several times.
Milquetoast Mitt.
How about “iterum Brutus?”
Again, Brutus?
PRESIDENT Trump has to stop endorsing these Swamp Creatures.
I hope he gets it.
Mitt is heaping egg on his face, what a turd.
Willard The Loser.
Do you feel lucky, punk?
Well, do you?
That’s more like it!
Et tu Mittae was the first thing that came mind when I heard the report. Back stabbing lying POS.
“Romney is previously known for playing the role of Brutus in the play Julius Caesar.”
Bwahahahahahaaaa!!! Man this guy is getting it from all over....
Treasonous SOB selling out Americans again.
