The Beatification of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
American Thinker ^ | 31 Dec 2018 | Daniel John Sobieski

Posted on 01/01/2019 7:50:55 AM PST by Rummyfan

In anticipation of her seat being the next Supreme Court vacancy to be filled by President Trump, Hollywood has come out with a fawning biopic of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg depicting how in 1956 she overcame the sexist fortress of Harvard Law School to become the feminist icon she is today:

It’s 1956, and Ginsburg is one of only nine women in the class, facing the slings and arrows of sexist men of all ages. The opening scene will be deeply satisfying, especially for viewers who have joined the burgeoning cult of RBG, because they know what those students obviously didn’t: That Ginsburg will end up sitting on the Supreme Court, long after most of the guys who beat her out for law firm jobs have retired to the golf course. More than that, the elderly Ginsburg will become a cultural icon of still-uncharted dimensions.

“On the Basis of Sex,” a full Hollywood production in which the young Ginsburg is played by Felicity Jones, is the latest entry in the popular movement that presents the pioneering women’s-rights attorney as a kind of progressive superhero. The film is a myth-building exercise for a woman who’s reached mythic stature in a shockingly short period of time.

Without saying so, the film probably anticipates her replacement is likely to be Justice Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, as far from Ginsburg’s secular progressive and anti-Constitution philosophy as one can get...

This glorification of Ginsberg lately is one of the weirder things I’ve witnessed in recent years.

That withered old crone should retire and leave us alone.

"Can't wait for her to.... retire."

Her body needs to follow her mind, which retired years ago.

And still, with a straight face, the media claim to be non-partisan.....

This behavior is what tells you that Jesters John Roberts is FOS when he claims that there are no 0bama judges and no Clinton judges.

The Left has a corpse propped up in Seat 6, with its vote being issued by a committee of Lefty law clerks.

This is not just glorification, this is canonization, conferring secular sainthood on some kind of paradigm of the Left.

Saint Ruth may scarcely have time to bask in her role of (very) elder stateswoman.

If that is indeed her gender.

Some people study the Constitution only looking for loopholes.

This is no worse than the glorification of Hillary the Crone in the series Madam Secretary. The Hollywood left never tires of trying to sanitize that vile wreck of human refuse.

The leftist freaks need “champions” like that POS.

They’re angry and filled with hate, and need to lionize POS like her against President Trump to get through their days.

Agreed. She was a pretty lame judge and really only became a hero recently because of her pro-abortion stance and the fact that the leftist media thought this dim, ideological old lady who sleeps on the bench would somehow be their warm fuzzy for the year,

“she overcame the sexist fortress of Harvard Law School”

“obama overcame the ... at HLS”

“Fauxahauntas ......... at HLS”

twice is coincidence, three times is an enemy attack

If you think about it, RBG fits some of the same criteria as Bernie Sanders. Old, Jewish, and hopelessly square. There’s some sort of crazy transference of love for grandparents, perhaps ones millennials never knew, going on here.

There is no way she will retire during a Republican presidency. We can only hope that when her seat is finally vacated, a Republican is in the White House and the Senate is in Republican hands, and whoever is confirmed to replace her will be as solidly conservative as she has been solidly liberal.

Say what you will about Ginsburg, but she has never betrayed liberal principles the way people like John Roberts or David Souter or Anthony Kennedy or Sandra Day O'Connor have betrayed conservative principles. When Democrats nominate someone to the SC, they vet them thoroughly on left-wing ideological purity. Republicans never learn - they worry about finding judges who are not judicial activists, when what is needed to roll back liberal excess is conservative judicial activists.

Women outlive men in this country by several years. But for individuals lucky enough to reach the age of 80 the percentage of women who suffer from dementia is approximately twice that of men. This discrepancy widens with increased years.

Ginsburg is 85. Approximately 30% of persons who have reached the age of 85 suffer from some form of dementia. Even without the obvious outward indications she has presented in public appearances, her statistical chance of suffering from some form of diminished mental capacity due to dementia is around 50%.

Her staff is covering for her... They will try to get her past the 2020 Presidential election in hopes that a Democrat will win. But she is a mess and whether she will be able to linger in the chambers of the Supreme Court for that long is questionable.
