As a result of 'winning' 50 free speech reform cases, nearly 1 million students may now be exposed to the ideas of liberty, not just the usual leftist talking points typically presented in the classroom.
YALs National Fight for Free Speech campaign targets unconstitutional policies that campus administrators use to justify shutting down YAL students and speakers.
In 2016, an Pierce administrator told a YAL student activist that he could not pass out copies of the Constitution unless he was inside the free speech zone, prompting a lawsuit. With this policy change, however, students can now exercise their speech freely.
Other recent victories for YAL include a case at Kellogg Community College where five YAL students were arrested for passing out copies of the Constitution, prompting a policy change, and a case at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, in which students rights to expression were limited to only one hour a day in a tiny free speech zone, which has now been eliminated.

Bump!
All well and good on paper. the screaming snowflakes and the paid radicals will not have this and will resort to , yes you guessed it, violence
That this list contains so many taxpayer funded (public) institutions is a horrifying reminder of how the LEFT has taken control of the academic establishment. That any of these public schools would be so blatant in ignoring the 1st Amendment provisions on forbidding governmental interference with non-violent free speech is damning!
And here is a very recent example ...
An Andrew Gillum (D) staffer was arrested for battery on the Florida State University (FSU) campus (11 Nov. 2018) after a verbal and physical confrontation at a FSU College Republican information table. In the lead-up to the 2018 governor election, the FSU College Republicans were handing out campaign literature when Ms Shelby Shoup, an intern in Mayor Gillum's campaign for governor, stepped to the table, became very abusive in language and ended up throwing the contents of her drink at two fellow students.
She self-identifies as a Communist and is a member of FSU Students for Justice in Palestine.
YAL = Young Americans for Liberty
Well...that is the usual case when they ‘loose!’....
Thanks for the bump Jim......this is really great news!
......”these public schools would be so blatant in ignoring the 1st Amendment provisions on forbidding governmental interference with non-violent free speech is damning!”.....
Well unfortunately until it hit ‘critical’ mass push back wasn’t organized sufficiently to do more than make a dent here and there. .....YAL student groups are well organized and supported across the nation now and growing.....thus the law suites reflected they meant business to ‘DO’ something about it....not just talk about it. For such a young group, just four years in the making they appear to be making great strides.
Thanks Candor for putting the list out here....Interesting to see a lot of ‘community colleges’ listed.
"Young Americans for Liberty, a national student group committed to the ideas of liberty, has hit an impressive benchmark to round out 2018 policy changes at 50 different colleges and universities across the country, all with the intent to better protect free speech rights on campus."
Thanks... TXnMA
