Dossier fails the test of time; Trump-Russia collusion claims now called 'likely false'
Washington Times ^ | December 30, 2018 | By Rowan Scarborough

Yahoo News’ Michael Isikoff, an early public conduit for Christopher Steele’s anti-Trump dossier, now says the former British spy’s sensational Russia collusion charges lack apparent evidence and are “likely false.”

As Election Day loomed in September 2016, Mr. Isikoff was the first Washington journalist to write about Mr. Steele’s memos. He focused on Mr. Steele’s contention that Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page met with nefarious operatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin during a publicly announced trip to Moscow in July 2016.

As reported by the Daily Caller, Mr. Isikoff this month told Mediaite columnist John Ziegler: “When you actually get into the details of the Steele dossier, the specific allegations, we have not seen the evidence to support them, and in fact, there is good grounds to think that some of the more sensational allegations will never be proven and are likely false.”

Mr. Isikoff is best friends with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, who hired Mr. Steele in May and June 2016 with money funneled through a law firm from the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Mr. Isikoff was one of a handful of mainstream journalists who met with Mr. Steele in Washington as arranged by Mr. Simpson.

Mother Jones magazine’s David Corn wrote the second Washington dossier story based on an interview with Mr. Steele, who acknowledged he was desperate to stop the Trump campaign and prompt the FBI to ratchet up its investigation.

Mr. Isikoff and Mr. Corn would team up on a March 2018 best-selling book, “Russian Roulette.” It told Mr. Steele’s story in a favorable light amid a narrative on Moscow’s direct election interference by hacking Democratic Party computers.

Has ANYTHING in the dossier proved to be true?

And yet five Trump campaign figures have been convicted of crimes ‘not directly related’ to any Russia election collusion, which was Mr. ‘Mueller’s main task assigned by the Justice Department’....No court filings indicate that any of the five participated in or witnessed collusion with Russia.

So all this clearly evidences Mueller’s been on a witch hunt and continues to be.

Obviously everyone involved knew it was false from the beginning but the charade continues, to avoid admitting to applying for the FISA warrant under false pretense

And suddenly they need to investigate Trump’s golf club’s hiring practices and splash it all over the evening “news” as a distraction. Squirrel!

Actually the Democrats claim of “collusion” against Trump turns out to be collusion between a British liar, who should be locked up, and the Democrats.. including Comey and others who used the Dossier to defraud the FISC and wiretap Trump illegally..

Personally I think this entire ‘created’ investigation has been all about gathering everything possible to file all the upcoming accusations for the impeachment efforts of which that is to bring pressure and tie up this administration in knots before the 2020 election. They know they can’t impeach but they can create chaos and move a vast amount of $$$$ through these efforts.

Why is Isikoff doing this now? He knew the dossier was crap and fake a long time ago.

This is his preemptive “mea culpa” to ward off being castigated by the few remaining honest journalists out there, as well as to protect his publisher/boss Yahoo News (now that’s a “fake name” if there ever was one).

A long look into Isikoff’s associations in the media will show him not only to be a solid leftist, but his associations with some hardcore Left journalists such as Mark Hosenball and David Corn raise questions in my mind as to why he hasn’t been treated as a Lefty.

He, certainly, is not an “objective journalist”. He might have been one once, but he shifted to the Left which now feeds him very well. He won’t bite the hand that feeds him.

“Has ANYTHING in the dossier proved to be true?”

Carter Page went to Moscow./s

Seriously, the only things in the “Dossier” that have been confirmed are things that were a matter of public record when it was written.

My speculation: the Dossier was made up sensational crap that no-one could prove or disprove. Eg. what Putin said to Sechin about Hillary Clinton.

The one “anchor” was to be the Michael Cohen in Prague. Which I believe they got from an illegal 702 FISA search, or maybe from another Five Eyes source.

The logic of the “Dossier” was that the confirmation of a secret Michael Cohen trip to Prague would validate all their made up crap like incontinent hookers and Carter Page getting billions from Putin to give to Trump.

But the source screwed up, and Michael Cohen was never in Prague. Although Glenn Simpson keeps pushing the story on any “journalist” who will take his money to publish it.

Obviously the game plays for the left are showing that no evidence is ever necessary... just make accusations and dump it in the lap of their targets, via the media, to prove beyond any doubt they are not guilty. Then the media runs for weeks and weeks with every whisper to engage the public...meanwhile the left is already moved ahead to the next plan of attack.

Are we talking Steele’s pee pee hooker dossier or collusion charges in some memos?

The hooker dossier and the Trump-Russia collusion are two separate stories.

I half expect to see something similar to the old Saturday Night Live skit with “Emily Latella.” After raving about injustice she discovers she is mistaken and looks into the camera to deliver a cute, “Never mind!”
