Jesse Jackson was getting away with a big lie so well that the Chicago Sun-Times even wrote an editorial based on his phony claim. As the old, wry journalism joke goes, Jacksons lie was so agreeable to the prejudices of MSM-ers, that it was too good to check.
Enter the brave and scrappy bloggers at CWB Chicago, a neighborhood blog that:
was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
We knew from city data that robberies in our neighborhood had been soaring to record highs for three consecutive years. Yet public officials and police representatives at CAPS meetings continually said that crime was going down.
Telling the truth and calling BS on pols, papers, and people that perpetuate lies is a habit at CWB Chicago, which is why I read it so often, even though I have never lived in Chicago (though I admit a great fondness for the city, despite its many, worsening problems). Among the worst of those problems: criminals roaming the streets, far too many of them either out on low bail, or charged no bail at all, under the terms of the Illinois Bail Reform Act of 2017.
CWB reported:
Rev. Jesse Jackson made a pre-Christmas plea for 19 publicly-unnamed Cook County Jail inmates to be released. These individuals were jailed merely for being poor, Jackson said, adding that liberating the poor was in the spirit of Christmas.
Jackson based his claim on a politician, elected Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart:

I have frequently found it an intelligent substitution to change any reference of “Cook County, IL” to “Crook County, IL”. This gives the proper aspect of the government of the City of Chicago and its environs!
Great story!
I hope local Internet based publications like CWB grow and prosper!
I was on plane to ny one time with this turd. It was a real conundrum- I wanted the plane to crash but I was on it.
Jesse ROBINSON jackson. As in Michelle Robinson Obama. Their mutual relative Noah Robinson Jr is doing life for his involvement in a black street gang founded by a Mexican drug cartel. El Runk converted to Islam in mass by Louis ferret Con. The gang is known to be involved with: drugs. Murder for hire, male/female prostitution, and domestic terrorism.(funded by kadaffi via LF. The gang controlled the community that BHO organized.
Things that the MSM missed /s

Whats wrong, Jesse? Cant extort any more money from WBBM and CBS??
Grew up a Chicago kid. Nice to know some of us still there have a brain.
It’s been “Crook County” since the early 50s - and probably long before - when my family lived there. We left in 1967, when I graduated HS. I literally grew-up in the suburbs, and worked for Nixon-Lodge in ‘59 & ‘60, writing/producing/mailing the GOP’s weekly newsletter. I earned my Eagle Scout Rank on Nov 20, 1963, which JFK signed two days before he went to Dallas.
So Spielberg got it right...
#6. I sat through the 1970 Senate hearing about the El Runkin and P Street Gangs. They conned a lot of liberals into supporting them as anti-gang speakers to local students.
The hearings were held by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and it was my first professional congressional assignment.
The hearing room was filled with all kinds of wackos from the Chicago SCLC (Reb. Al Raby and friends) to J. B. Stoner, the convicted white bomber from Georgia. He grinned like a “Pinky Lee” with a cucumber shoved up his butt, and wore one of those tiny Pork Pie straw hats and striped ties.
Here in NJ crime stats are always manipulated to justify a large number of cops with 6-figure salaries (beyond the standard façade of politicians that things are improving).
Taking credit for catching a swine like jerkson in a lie is almost like taking credit for catching fish in a barrel. But good for these guys.
