This may sound like a simple answer, but truly, send home the 10s of millions of illegals here now and not only will their home countries benefit from the human capital who learned much here, but after some, yes, significant adjustments, workers and taxpayers here will gain up and down the ranks.
Health insurance should not be connected to your employment. This wouldnt be a problem if it were like Switzerland. There, everyone must buy their own health insurance, there are cheap to expensive plans for for everyone. Employers pay for all accidents, so there is no workmans comp. No industry on either side trying to determine if the injury was caused by the work. Whether you were hurt on the job or on the ski slopes, HR will pay for your treatment and recovery. But health insurance is totally separate, so there is no need to fire the over 50s. And their SS is more significant than ours.

I am in IT.
