Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) added her name to the long list of lawmakers to publicly oppose President Trump's decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria. She minced no words during her appearance on "Face the Nation" over the weekend.
"I am deeply, deeply concerned, and I oppose strongly the president's decision apparently to withdraw troops from Syria, the apparent decision that we're now going to be looking to withdraw troops from Afghanistan," Cheney said. "I think the president has done a lot of very good things in terms of beginning to rebuild our military, getting out of the Iranian nuclear agreement, but these two decisions would be disastrous. They would really in many ways hand victories to our enemies, to Iran, to ISIS in Syria, the Taliban, Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. It's a very dangerous path to go down, and we shouldn't be going down it. We need to make sure that we keep our troops there in order to prevent the establishment of safe havens for those groups that want to attack us."

***A real war is way easier - you can beat them and go home. These low-intensity asymmetrical conflicts are way harder. Thats why the army focused on conventional readiness after vietnam and excelled at the set-piece battles against a state army in Iraq I and II, and made a mess of Afghanistan and the Iraqi occupation.***
Excellent, and fruitful, analysis!
No, just because she's a warmongering Fredocon. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.
When your ally’s only want your money; who needs a fair weather friend?
We have done all we can in Syria. It is time to get out and move on.
She and others sees it one way he and others sees it another. That is politics, thats a representative republic, thats debate. Their policy is a forward pushing policy while his is one at home. That doesnt make him a pacifist and it doesnt make her warmongering. I guess Im not an all or nothing kind of person and value debate on both sides of this issue and see value in both. If we draw them all back we get complacent allowing enemies to reform, lack intelligence apparatus on the ground, allow the enemy to reform and get another 9/11, if we keep them all there we get unhappiness at home, more troop deaths, chants of warmongering, certain segments getting rich and spending. Its a no win on either side of the argument
She really thinks a lot of herself!
Here I thought she was humbled when she had to withdraw her ill timed challenge to Enzi a few years back.
These people, the elite, are no different than Hillary.
But that isn't going to happen. Non of these war-mongers will ever do that. They don't have that kind of fortitude.
Liz Cheney has consistently been GOPe. Shes in favor of open borders, globalism, TPP, nation building, and shes been a DC swap creature her entire life. BTW, I havent heard her make a single move to and the Mueller investigation, or to do anything to impede the coup.
As Jonathan Turley opined: Trump is transforming Democrats
EXCERPT--The remaking of the Democratic Party was most evident last week with the reaction to Trumps decision to withdraw troops from Syria. There was a time when a sizable number of Democrats opposed undeclared wars and unending military campaigns. Now, however, Democrats are appalled that Trump would not continue a war in one of the myriad countries with U.S. troops engaged in combat operations. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called the withdrawal a Christmas gift to Vladimir Putin, while Sen.Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) and others called it irresponsible or hasty. Of course, this hasty move is occurring after seven years of intervention in the civil war, including personnel on the ground since 2012. Democrats now espouse the same lines that once were denounced during the Bush administration. (FR POSTED)
How much money and power do you need, Craven and greedy humans, that is who populates the power structure of America.
On that note, will DC get a GHW Bush type of send off from the Libs?
This “power couple” will be on my tourism list of public urinals when they pass.
Normally Id agree with you. However her voting record is 95.8% in line with the Presidents agenda. She is hardly the person folks paint her to be. 95.8% is what one would expect when they support the Presidents agenda.
This crying over Syria is pathetic!
Any way to verify the authenticity of this photo? The television shows both towers fully involved on fire - with W in Louisiana and an obvious State of Emergency in progress, I doubt that the Vice President wouldnt already be on his way to the Situation Room at the White House in the Presidents absence. I find it nearly impossible to believe that instead hed be relaxing in his office, feet up on his desk, calmly observing the worst attack in our nations history.
Seems like the suggestion might also apply to Wyoming.
Of course Lizzy is a DC brat.
fulc
What an idiot she is.
Are any of her kids in the military?
Build the wall/travel ban. If we notice anything weird, bomb it from the stratosphere.

Yep, and we ‘qooks’ only know this ahead of y’all because.... we knew it a year ago
