What you observe is the norm in the Northeast.
Even the NE Republican will talk about banning certain guns. They are the same as the liberals.
But a gun owner who votes dem is like a priest that performs abortions. It doesn’t really jive.
What you have is a club who think that THEY should have guns, but no one else should. And they are racist as hell too because they always want to ban guns popular with black areas.
They talk about how a gun doesn’t need to be flashy, or “pimped out”, about how we needed to take away the Tec-9 and we need to get AK47s out of the picture for one reason or another.
Any liberal who claims to love guns is a nutbag. Like the Yankee Marshal on youtube. He’s a clown, claiming to be liberal and still believing gun rights. Watch him talk about what guns he thinks everyone should have and the truth becomes clear.
Is there a democrat in high office (Governor, US House, US Senate) who believes the Second Amendment protects our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms, including handguns, including AR-15 with 30-round magazines, and including keeping them as we wish in our homes and bearing them inside and outside the home without burdensome restrictions? Can anyone name even one such democrat?
Leftists have to know how to use guns if they plan on taking them away.
She was a cutie. Disappeared right after the Pumpkin’ Chunkin’ accident.
Thought the news said the injured woman was a “producer” and not her.
“...they’ll expand the club and use it to lobby against new gun bans ...”
While simultaneously fervently supporting and voting for gun control pooliticians.
While shooting at a range in Orlando there were some Brits in the lane next to me. One, a female, whined and carried on about Americans and guns. I offered to let her shoot my 8” Smith and Wesson 500 magnum.
She agreed. One shot and she about collapsed. She picked herself up, looked at me and said, “Can I do that again?” Huge smile on her face :)
I have seen way too many Antifa and Black Panther groups taking classes at various public ranges in this area (Yes, they are all wearing shirts, decals, and other accessories proclaiming their affiliation).
They are serious, disciplined practitioners who do know their firearms. They drill right next to the "Good Old Boys" and "Preppers".
Everybody is very polite. And I expect that everybody has a plan.
Hitler loved little Aryan Children and Dogs.
They already get all kinds of passes.
Some of them get away with murder.
Here is the money paragraph:
The club also serves as an escape from some less-than-tolerant anti-gun left-wingers. Pattie, Sean, and Keith all said they'd faced more backlash from the average liberal who found out they owned guns than from gun owners who found out they were liberals. In Pattie's case, she said gun owners tended to be far more tolerant of her being gay than liberals are of her being a gun owner.
Didja get that? Right wing "haters" are more open to a gay gunner than leftist brethren. That means these folks are outcasts who need to be given direction.
This is EXACTLY the type of ripple in the Blue Wall akin to #WalkAway that MUST be acted upon. The numbers are clear - in order to avoid a Trump loss in 2020 and to keep the MAGA train moving, we need MORE like-minded folk...and we sure won't get them from Planned Parenthoood.
I get it: these people may be wolves in sheep's clothing. They probably have no problem with illegals. They likely shop at Whole Foods, order through Alexa, get coffee at Starbucks, and like Katy Perry. Understood.
But Trump won by 78k votes. That was WAAAAY too close. The midterms should have taught us that we need to EXPAND the quantum of Deplorables, to red-pill fellow citizens on the bubble so that THEY can see the benefits of freedom and liberty and the dangers of statism.
The people in this article don't have to be worked-over from a philosophical perspective...consider this:
"Root-cause mitigation is the idea that it's not a gun violence problem, it's a violence problem," she said. "If we're going to solve the problem we need to look at what's causing the violence overall. Two-thirds of gun deaths are suicides. What's causing that?" ... "If we want to solve the problems, a gun ban is not going to do anything," she said. "Magazine capacity restrictions are particularly ineffectivethere are studies on it. Getting to the root of why people are depressed, why we are having these issues, what causes violencethose are the solutions we should look at."
Yes, they think government programs can help in this quest, but they are on the proper trajectory.
Every journey starts with a step. A smart approach would be to integrate these people into Deplorablism. Otherwise, we will be posting in 3 years about President Kamala Harris and her gun ban.
One of the biggest youtube gun channels “The Yankee Marshal” is a 2A lefty. He even has a podcast called “shooting left-of-center”.

Isn’t a liberal gun club an oxymoron?
3 K nation wide?
Not even a rounding error for the total firearms owners in the US.
.
Sounds like a description of the ubiquitous “Fudd” characters.
Possibly the most intellectually stimulating post I have ever read on FR. Much food for thought. Some thoughts:
“Pattie” as described has become a thinker; she is no longer a liberal (having felt their intolerance) but an Independent.
There are fissures among liberals concerning gun control. Some push confiscation as waging class warfare against OFWGs; others have learned it’s a mean enough world that armed self defense should not be illegal.
Making the rounds: “You do not make bad people harmless by making good people helpless.”
“President Kamala Harris’ gun ban?” As likely as President Barack Obama’s gun ban. Remember how he bitched about the Constitution interfering with his executive powers?
National confiscation? Look up Lyndon Johnson; what we hate to this day as GCA ‘68 is weak tea compared to what LBJ sought: national registration & licensing & a ban on handgun ownership. He was boiling mad when he signed it into law.
Lastly, liberals who are tolerant about gun ownership aren’t the ones in the driver’s seat. Wait ‘til the new House takes power.
And their future laws are Not My Laws.
