A very pleasant good Thursday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

Thankfully no power outages here at the house. Just some wind and rain from last night's storms. How's everyone this morning?

Oh, I think I remember reading something on the Raptor Resource Center’s Facebook page that because DNN is sort of in a long wide valley, the wind is just sucked through there without anything to slow it down. They called it a “ north/south wind-funnel of sorts that cuts through the hills and channels wind - and birds - for miles”.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Glad you didn’t lose power during the storms. Were you and Gizmo able to go to the lake yesterday?

I can see the tree’s along a valley and it looks like it’s pretty exposed, but I didn’t know the valley was so long. If it runs north/south, it’s gonna let the wind rip when it comes through and it sure was ripping tonight!

The wind’s pretty calm in Latvia this morning. I’m sure Raimis and Milda appreciate the break! It’s been very windy there the past few days.

As usual, when I last checked on the Latvian nest it was pitch black all the way to the beginning of the stream. Then I forgot till you mentioned it. The nest is looking pretty good considering. The bowl is too little but maybe they’ll figure that out later.

Speaking of later, guess I’d better head out. It’s getting late and my eyes are tired. See ya tomorrow! Hope the wind isn’t too bad there. I didn’t check ours, but I’m pretty sure the gusts were over 40mph.

It doesn’t start getting light there until after midnight our time. Raimis and Milda could be heard several minutes before they went to the nest this morning ...... the distinctive bonding sounds. Raimis is ready to be a daddy again. LOL

The bowl is ok. They need a porch and rails more than anything, especially on the left side. They’re working on it slowly. They’ve done pretty well so far for the first time building a nest from scratch.

We hope the wind isn’t too bad and at the moment, I’m hoping the tornado warnings that are already popping up don’t move this far north. We haven’t finished cleaning up everything from last month’s tornado!

Sleep well. Catch ya tomorrow.

Good Morning Kathy (((HUGS)))... just waiting for the routes to come up so I can bid my routes. Hopefully I don’t go on reserve (on call).

So far, only one big snowstorm (followed by a thaw and then FREEZING weather), but my sister up in Maine has already had six major snow “events” which is what they’re calling blizzards these days.

Yep, that's me this morning.
Although, I did sleep all night.
That's different. LOL!
Are all of you recovering from Christmas?
Sounds like a lot of people shopped a BUNCH!
Which is another win for the economy.
Hope all y'all have a Dandy Day...
....'cause it's nearly the weekend! Again!
((((hugs))))
