The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention wants to warn you about a respiratory infection that can affect your children and even some adults. Every winter parents should make sure their kids are bundled up, so they won't get sick, but the CDC also wants parents to watch out for Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV.As temperatures cool down, parents like Jennifer Simon say it is tough to keep her growing two-year-old germ free. "I think it's next to impossible in the winter, and most days, we are just trying to get through and keep him happy," Simon said. Though beyond a cough, parents have another thing to worry about. "That virus causes anything from a common cold," Doctor Mark Lockett said. Lockett with Coliseum Hospital says RSV causes a spectrum of diseases. "Anything as severe as respiratory failure, that can lead some to the ICU and in rare cases even death," Lockett said.

"As temperatures cook down" Or more likely because illegals go south to visit grandma and bring back all sorts of germs to spread around to their classmates and at Walmart as they wipe their noses on their hands as they touch the produce.
Many schools start back on Jan. 7. FRiends, get your errands run and boost your immune system before then.
“Or more likely because illegals go south to visit grandma and bring back all sorts of germs to spread around to their classmates and at Walmart as they wipe their noses on their hands as they touch the produce.”
THAT is the elephant in the room.
Are their any more categories than Kids and adults?

Pajama Boys, Soyboys, feminist SJWarriors, etc. Not kids, not adults, stuck somewhere in perpetual self-centered preteen adolescence.
We make Elderberry tincture every year. Use a few drops a day or two to three teaspoons a day if you’re already feeling the symptoms.
our Dr. also taught use to use 4 to 6 drops of 2% hydrogen peroxide in each ear if you feel symptoms coming on.
Have done this now for years no nasty colds or flus .... at all.
My dad and I live in different states and got the same virus affecting the lungs/upper respiratory system just 2 days apart. The worst of it lasted for 2 days then a little better on the 3rd day and so on.
People I know in my local area were also affected in the weeks prior. It’s definitely making the rounds and it’s a virulent strain. I think taking the 2k mg of Vitamin C per day at the first sign did help shorten its lifespan. Some Flonase to reduce the sinus drip and some Naproxen to help with the joint aches from it did help as well.
For most of us it’s just something we have to get through but for those unlucky few who might have a compromised immune system it could be something much worse.
EmergenC and garlic cloves (I will chew on the cloves before swallowing).
Had a head cold so bad once, I got a mouthful of peroxide and stood on my head to let it run into my sinuses. It worked.
We have it as a bad headcold. My sister in law is really sick with severe respiratory virus. Her doctor told her this morning not to come in because there were people in his waiting room who should be in hospital. He phoned in a bunch of prescriptions for her.
You could buy a sinus flush bottle and not have to stand on your head.
Put that peroxide in a sprayer like those that have a saline solution, buy one, empty it and fill it with your HP solution.
I’ve made elderberry tincture in the past, but nothing gives me better results than hydrogen peroxide in the ears and nose (just in the very tip).
I ignored early symptoms this fall and started to have a cold settle in. I rubbed lavender essential oil along the lymph nodes on my neck and over where I think my sinus cavities are on my face. Symptoms were gone after two rounds of that.
Crazy that inexpensive treatments can be so effective
We make the elderberry tincture every year. It’s pretty effective.
Hubby just finished his antibiotics for a respiratory infection. Started out as a cold. I got the cold....it was an awful one, and Im still hacking.... but no infection.
Sounds exactly what my son went through last week. Luckily the wife and I didn’t get it - we were sick earlier in the year so we’re still riding that wave.
Just being able to chew on a piece of fresh garlic says your near bulletproof ... bet it’s a great way to avoid sex too
Great. Had a simple head cold for a couple of days. Then that morphed into apparent bronchitis - I’ve been hacking up phlegm for 4 days now. Seem to be on the back side of it now, getting better.
I use peroxide to clear my ears too, if it feels like an infection may be trying to set in....have to be careful because too much for too long can damage the drum.
It was bad, it was up in above back of throat and clogging my eustation (sp) tubes to my ears. I also poured peroxide into my ears and let it sit there. At the near end, I sneezed out a space alien looking glob (like on Star Trek). And just like that, it was over.
Yes, I do hear “You stink!” now and then...
Actually, any preschool or kindergarten in any part of the country is a giant germ-fest. That said, the kids who are kept in sterile environments - that is rarely allowed to play outside, play with other kids, etc. - are the most likely to get serious infections.
Older people are often susceptible to small-child diseases, so avoid coughing small children on airplanes!
