GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A West Michigan native who recently moved to Colorado said she and her husband got a firsthand look at the effects of the government shutdown.
Leeann Sadler, who is originally from Grand Rapids, planned to visit several national parks with her husband. The government shutdown is taking a toll on those plans.
Sadler told 24 Hour News over FaceTime that she and her husband planned their trip six months ago.
"We didn't know that the governrment shutdown would affect the national parks like this because there is that notion that a federal shutdown doesn't really affect us in any way," Sadler said.
Sadler and her husband were in Arizona on Sunday. It was day two of their 10-day excursion.
"It's just really disappointing to see kids get really excited for national parks and to go on hikes and be outside and have them look at locked gates. That was really disappointing to see families today."
Sadler and her husband already pre-paid for their upcoming campsites.
However, she said that some of the employees in charge of campsite reservations are off the job until further notice.
They're just hoping things are figured out before Jan. 1.

I think campsite operations are run by contractors
Blame the Democraps!
Sorry Schumer effed up their plans
Great, now they can spend their time calling their favorite Democrat Senators to tell them to Vote for the spending package that includes Funding for the Wall.
They can even get their Kids to write sympathetic Letters telling the Democrat Senators to get it done so they can visit the National Parks IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER.
These people are stupid.
Well that certainly tears it for me. I’m done with Trump now, that’s fer sure. LOL! Suck it buttercup. I mean suck it UP buttercup. Bolt cutters or 4WD and you’re in. Apparently trespassing on US property isn’t any issue these days so have at it.
Merry Christmas
P.S. Just one of probably thousands of similar stories huh?
Oh Noes! No Coco and ice skating?
Leeann Saddy Sadler.
I think the state is picking up the tab to keep them open.

And “Trump raped 50 women yesterday, said President Bubba Clinton”
Stay tuned.
Agreed. Take it up with Chuckie. And for comparison, my son, is an engineer working on a NASA contract, is on furlough. You don’t get to play too bad. My son doesn’t have a job, at least until this gets sorted out. Quit whining.
The left has ruined way more than a day at the park.
