I'm back and forth toady. I'm at work painting rods. Got to deliver some swordfish rods tomorrow in Marathon on my way to the kids house for Christmas.
Tough week. I had a melanoma removed Monday seems it was a bit deeper than I thought.I was in there forever! Finally got 10 stitches and 15 staples after they were through burning away all the cancerous looking stuff.
If any of you have had a lot of sun in your earlier days get checked regularlr! In my case it was a dark black spot on my forearm. Wasn't growing fast but had to be removed.
Anyway no TV for me. So hopefully, there are some freepers out there watching the driveby shows and FNC/Sharyll.
Woah!
Sorry to hear this. Is the hole deep? Does it hurt?
Use your sunscreen, Bro! We don’t need anything to happen to you!
Prayers up for you Brother and hopes for a Merry Christmas. We have a group Christmas Caroling this evening with a house full of Dems.
There will be no politics only great singing.
Rod-you really have has a tough week with the move and all. Hope all goes well with that melanoma.
Our personal experience with cancer is to catch it early. As we age if we wish to live a longer life we do need to visit the doctor a bit more often.
Skin cancer - squamous cell carcinoma can occur in your mouth, on your gums. IF caught early just major surgery. If any of these cancer cell escape to your lymph system, your have a countdown clock.
Rod, I am guessing that you may need a PET scan at some point as your tumor was so deep
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Great advice on getting check. Do this 2x a year. Very important as we age as all that sun worshipping , have to have the best tan comes out as we mature.
Have a Merry Christmas / Happy New Year with your family.
You are one of of our great assets on the thread. Always look forward to your commentary.
My head, which is bald, is covered with scars from having skin cancers removed. Fortunately the really bad ones have been caught in time and were removed via Mohs surgery, an excellent procedure for insuring all of the cancerous lesion is removed. Mohs is not a pleasant trip, but is very effective with minimal scaring.
I highly recommend getting a skin cancer check every year.
