President Trump will spend Christmas in Washington due to the ongoing partial government shutdown.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday that first lady Melania Trump will fly back from Florida “so they can spend Christmas together.” Trump later tweeted the news.
On Friday, Melania and their 12-year-old son, Barron, left the nation’s capital for Mar-a-Lago to keep the family's tradition of celebrating Christmas in Palm Beach alive.
It is not immediately clear if Barron will also be returning to Washington with his mother.
Trump was supposed to leave Friday for the 16-day vacation, but he announced that he would be staying at the White House as the Senate attempted to compromise on legislation to keep the government funded into the new year.
Earlier Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration canceled the temporary flight restrictions for airspace around Mar-a-Lago that had been put in place from Dec. 21-Jan. 6 in anticipation of the president’s trip.
Despite negotiations and a visit to Capitol Hill by top administration members including Vice President Mike Pence, Democrats and some Republicans could not get on board with legislation that included more than $5 billion for a U.S.-Mexico border wall.

He needs to and then read off a long list of American citizens that won’t be home for Christmas because of illegal aliens. And because the uniparty REFUSES TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS...Murders, drug overdoses, car wrecks, etc.

Would be ‘interesting’ were he to (sort of) tweet EVERY Congressperson & Senator asking to meet them at the White Hut.
If they have any sense of shame it should be embarrassing to them ESPECIALLY when he questions why they are on PAID vacation while many of their constituents are ‘out of a job’.
Then start announcing those that WON’T get reimbursed for days off.
He (or someone) has to drum up the passions of those that the ‘civil servants’ are screwing over.
One would think they were keeping their eye on that ‘go fund me’ but apparently it doesn’t ‘worry’ them.
Saw something where the ‘new girl’ from the Bronx is saying Congress shouldn’t get paid as long as the ‘government’ is on shut down...SHE must figure it will get resolved prior her swearing in.
OF Course, she can endear a lot of people if she ‘refuses’ her salary until hell freezes over or the Ds ‘reach across the aisle’ and try and get something done.

Won’t make a damn bit of difference to the Never Trumpers. GW, (to his credit) stayed at Camp David so his Secret Service guys could spend Christmas at home didn’t he? Did anyone in the media say anything nice? Not that I remember. The more things change, the more they stay the same......

i want to see some press conferences from NY and CA, preferably with half drunk martini glasses in hand and lampshades on heads.

What a perfect time to finally deliver his first prime time Oval Office address to drum up added support for all facets of border security.
