Trump’s question: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
The question when answered that matters most.
Just read the article two minutes ago. Then “BONG!! Fox News Alert” on my phone - McGurk who is mentioned in article agreeing with Trump ‘supposedly’ has resigned because of Trump’s decision to leave Syria.
Trump is doing what he campaigned on - and the know-it-alls who govern quagmire don’t agree.
As for the outcome, meh.
Extricate
Thank God we are pulling our soldiers out.
If hadji pops his head up to us again, America needs to fight war. Destroy them and their host nation beyond all recognition. Decimate. No 2 rocks left standing. Make their great grandchildren remember how we destroyed them. Do this, and America will be safe for a while again.
Trump dares to say outloud the emperor has no clothes
And that pretty much defines the establishment foreign policy he inherited
From the beginning, Trump said he would kill ISIS and then bring the boys home.
He was always very clear that he did not want to get involved in the so-called “civil war”, which means he was not going to do anything to help the Al-Qaeda-Al Nusra-Al-Whatayagot “rebels”.
I would like to know we aren’t abandoning the Kurds there, but help can be delivered to them below the table. And if we were going to overthrow anyone, how about Erdogan?
“However, the president went off-script during the call, agreeing with Erdogan when he asked POTUS, Why are you still there? since the Islamic State (ISIS) had been 99 percent decimated. Erdogan said his military could easily take care of the remaining 1 percent remnant of ISIS.”
So what happened is ... Turkey asked a question Trump couldn’t answer. I like the outcome.
I never believed DJT would make a “casual” decision on military issues; this story fits with my beliefs.
Neocons seem to want to stick around and run things too much.
When it comes to the military they only need a clear objective and the tools to accomplish it.
THEN COME HOME.
Korea and Viet Nam should have taught us that.
Why are we in Germany and Japan?
JFK asked the same question about Nam.
Unfortunately those fools got their way.
And we have a nice black slab in DC with names on it for all of our troubles.
We are spending $20 billion a year on Syria and Iraq and $50 billion in Afghanistan. This is about 10% of the Pentagon’s budget. For what? Almost a trillion dollars has been spent in Afghanistan so far.
In reality, we have defeated ISIS and now we should get out of the Syrian civil war. We should continue support for some of the Kurds, but even they realize the US isn't about to engage Turkish military units to defend them.
Maybe the answer was one Bolton couldn’t publicly tell Trump: To keep the Turks from committing genocide on the Kurds.
Erdogan (SPIT!) is covertly isis (SPIT!).
Bad move, POTUS.
