He pleaded not guilty in November to second-degree assault, which carries a penalty of up to 16 years in prison.
Bishop, who will serve his probation in Georgia, was in Denver on FBI business and was off-duty at the time of the shooting
The man who was shot, Tom Reddington, 24, spoke emotionally in court about how he lost his job at an Amazon warehouse after the shooting, his chronic pain and his concern that he may never be able to run again.
I have done months of physical therapy, he said. I have sought counseling. However, being in public, especially seeing law enforcement with guns, makes me very uncomfortable.

Do not expect to get away like this at your local juke joint.
The FBI seems to be untouchable these days.
Must be nice to be in the driver’s seat of the nation, spy on everybody, blackmail people, lie, cheat and be a completely distinct and separate class from all the serfs and peons.
Nobody is ever held accountable in .gov
He’s STILL an FBI agent?
He is just the type of irresponsible, stupid a-hole they look for.
The Lords
and
The Peasants
I know I’m a peasant.
Was it important for the story?
Did someone hurt his feelings prior to being shot by the fbi man?
“FBI spokeswoman Kelsey Pietranton declined to say if he would continue to work at the agency.”
Of course, because taxpayers have no right to know the answer to this top secret information.
Thats just-us in the US. Just us peasants go to jail for carelessly firing a gun in a crowd.
Yup, had it LeRoy Brown at the Southside Lounge, he would be in prison.
Sometimes ya just gotta boogie.
And end the night with a bang.
Law enforcement gets a free pass to do whatever they want. Pathetic and such an obvious case of irresponsible behavior.
Hey, just another night out on the town!
The FBI has an annual budget of around 9 billion with 35,000 or so employees they deign to let us to know about.
Freegards
Well, three of them are in my local militia group. They don’t know that we know.
Ooh
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life...
Well duh! Remember, being a dumbass is not a crime for folks from the doh-J
I read the story, and while the guy did a stupid thing and a cascade of events (had the gun in a bar, had a round in the chamber, weapon not secured in the holster, probably drinking while carrying a firearm, etc) nearly killed a guy.
I think he is guilty of being a dummy, but it sounded like he was trying to impress girls or something by doing the backflip.
For all we know, and the story doesn't tell us, the guy might be an average okay guy, not a douchebag-power-mad-roided FBI agent that some people see him as.
I see him as being stupid as described above, not an arrogant killer. His statement: "...I never expected the result of my actions to lead to something like this... sounds like a guy who did something stupid, and was unlucky enough to step on his dick in public and nearly kill another unlucky man in the process instead of being able to quickly grab the gun, slink away and hope nobody saw the gun fall out.
I don't want him carrying a gun, but I don't think he is evil.
