Two rival family factions. Internal civil war. They were in charge, hes on our side and theyre trying to bring the present prince down.
I cannot be responsible for your lack of keeping up and paying attention.
Close.
Just replace Saudi Arabia with Iran and you got it.
Partly.
It was also meant to drive a wedge between the Trump faction in the US and MbS and the new Saudi alliance, and separate them. Also to skuttle Trump's weapons deal with MbS. Our withdrawal was always the goal.
The derp state is deeply saddened that they have lost Saudi as an ally and they desperately want them, and their money, back.
Once you understand that, everything else makes sense.
Ayuh.
So you dont have an answer to why you trust our security to wahabist? Our are you too afraid ?

You have more than you know.
I opine that the President knows exactly what he’s doing but he does not broadcast his strategies. I’m a product of my environment. Golden Gloves terminology. It doesn’t matter.
Maybe the Saudi forces are going in mainly to distribute weapons to the Kurds (with hopefully not too many of said weapons ending up in the hands of Iranian proxies).
I’m half serious.
Sufficiently armed, the Kurds likely can pretty well hold their own. SA might be less restrictive on what arms are supplied, compared to the US.
I think the Kurdish fighters are a tough bunch. But it seems something larger is afoot. I don’t know what it might be - Turkish forces seem to want to move in, and of course SA wants to keep Iran in check. If we can get SA to take the risk, then it’s good to get American troops out. But I suspect it’s part of something bigger, perhaps part of Trump’s ME “deal of the century” at play. Just guessing...
