I have a hard time imagining the Deep State allowing POTUS to replace Ginsburg

Yes. I think they are closer to direct action than many believe, and allowing Trump to replace Ginsburg may very well be a red line not to be crossed.

>> In spite of her small stature, Ginsburg saw her physical fitness improve since her first bout with cancer; she was able to complete 20 full push-ups in a session before her 80th birthday. <<

I saw the way the late-nigh TV shows had to use clever cutaways to make it look like she was weightlifting, despite the fact the weightlifting was only jogging weights. No way in the world do I believe she was capable of doing anything near a single pushup, even if she only weighted 35 pounds. They’ve foreseen that they would have to “weekend at Bernie’s” her, so they made a lie so huge people would believe a smidgeon of it: that she was able to hold up a pen.

I do think the comment about him being the only person in the world who could make a corgi not smile was pretty damned funny.

I wrote a long medical post about this and deleted it because it violated my rule against commenting on actual patients without knowing the facts.

But, applied to an imaginary patient, the MSKCC statement doesn’t really make sense and doesn’t conform to their own patterns of practice, that I have some familiarity with.

We aren’t going to get to know everything about this case for a while.

I do think that virtually all 85 year olds with possible pathologic rib fractures, lung metastases from one of two primaries, and the after effects of a lobectomy, would retire from any position of heavy responsibility.

“doctors say prospects look good”

Under the circumstances, meaningless. I will not speculate on specifics.

It is possible, but very unlikely, that this is a third primary (lung cancer) as opposed to metastatic disease.

RBG does not care about whether she is mentally capable of performing her job. She has probably long since delegated her responsibilities to some ideologically-compatible clerk on her staff, and will just affix her signature to whatever they prepare.

The ONLY thing she cares about, is preventing the SC from ruling against her Leftist agenda for as long as she can hold on.

Since neither of us have access to her charts/portal, I’d say we should not speculate, about speculating, either.

Merry Christmas, Jim Noble.

Most of the media is mis-reporting Justice Ginsburg’s exact diagnosis, thereby minimizing the severity of her condition. Ginsburg has NOT been diagnosed with lung cancer, rather she was diagnosed as having two cancerous nodules in her lungs. Her doctors will analyze the tissue removed to determine the type of cancer. For a non-smoker, lung cancer is extremely rare. If Ginsburg has a recurrence of either colon or pancreatic cancer which has spread to her lungs, then by definition, that would be Stage Four Cancer (spread from original organ to other organ). The survival rates for Stage Four Cancer are terrible.

Someone should call Obama and thank him for his mistake.

With stakes this high, I've noted before, she has her office and clerks and Docs so all they really need to do is prop her up and try to keep her awake but six years?

She should stop and smell the flowers, visit with loved ones, enjoy her days but I don't see it - she's political to the bone. She'll leave SCOTUS in a hearse. Sad.
