He’s free to disagree. But I’ve never seen an EFF-U letter like that from a future former cabinet memver.
Oh, you play dirty! Quoting George Washington, the most decent man to ever grace the presidency, to demonstrate how far away from our founding we have drifted. A man King George III himself called “the greatest man in the world!”
Great post.
To many Marines, Mattis was almost the second coming of Chesty Puller. Someone in the swamp got to him.
Only with VP Pence's wholehearted approval.
May I ask what business did he have meddling in Paris climate change and all these ridiculous things that are outside his purview of authority as SecDef?
Sounds like insubordination to me.
Maybe there was a good reason Obama had him in charge in Afghanistan.
Why? Pence is the snake who falsely claimed he was lied to.
The Ambassador asked Flynn to discuss the Obama sanctions. Flynn said no, and that it would have to remain a topic for a future date and moved on.
When asked later, he honestly said that he did not discuss sanctions with the Russian ambassador. In Neocon Pence world, saying “we cannot discuss sanctions” is in itself, discussing sanctions. So zippy Pence rushes to Face the Nation and claims he was lied to. This put Trump in the impossible position that to support Flynn, he would have to call his veep a liar.
His goal was to get Flynn gone so he could bring in the McMaster wing and change Trump’s foreign policy goals.
Snake in the grass. Pence is to Trump, what Bush was to Reagan.
Globalist Lap Dog Mattis
That’s the point — the disloyal letter!
The Mattis selection was a horrible selection. Trump listened to deep state advisors that he will never listen to again.
* * *
I recall long discussions about Afghanistan before Trump relented on continuing America’s involvement there.
No doubt, Mattis, who once commanded US forces in that country wanted to keep America there.
So it’s no surprise that today we hear Trump is reducing the military in Afghanistan by 50%. Mattis didn’t meet his deadlines and objectives in that country and Trump gave his his papers.
It’s curious that Trump did not credit Mattis for the ISIS victories on his watch.
The idiot is a deep state liberal. He wants the US to be the world’s policeman while we American taxpayers pay for it all. Fact is, he is a typical Military Industrial Complex idiot that will do anything for the next massive military budget.
The world is loaded with liberals and he wants to appease them by having us provide their defense and pay for it all.
I didn’t like the jackass when he was selected.
So this is likely what happened in that long back and forth over Afghanistan.
The Deep State kept not giving Trump what he wanted.
It was interesting reading your analysis of way options are presented. I would be very surprised if Trump fell for that trap.
No nation, like no man, is indispensable on God’s green earth. May God save America to wield us for his glorious and awful will.
He’d be excellent IMO.
What a dick.
Have some class:
Just resign and say you “want to spend more time with your family.”
[He was supposed to be the reincarnation of Patton. Screwed over the Haditha Marines. His fan base only cared that he said cool one liners.]
Between Mattis and Flynn, I’d say one of the biggest lessons Trump learned in two years is that his unhealthy fixation on military men simply did not serve him well at all.
[He is an Obama General who should have never been in that position.]
