The hair restoration thing looks pretty real. If he can’t afford that, then shave it and own it! Bald men have more testosterone!
It’s just that some of the combovers and toupees are like if we girls got implants from the back of a truck. (And some do look like it.)
It is bad when one can picture the animal the toupee came from.

One device was a hot spot indicator. The device could be aimed at something and the hot spots would show up. When aimed at me there was a hot spot on top of my head. Turns out that was the first indicator I had of thinning hair. I still have plenty but not nearly as much as when I was younger.

More women wear wigs than you think. My has a few, she used to sing in musical productions and torch bands. She says it beats using scads of product and not quite making it happen. Poof! A wig, magic.
Possibly the make-up guy on the tv show he was on? I don’t watch any other news except Fox or OAN, but whoever does the make-up for the men there (I think they moonlight as funeral directors) must be deliberately making up some of them for spite. If they put anymore eye shadow on Greg Jarrett, he’ll end up winning a Tony award. Thank goodness he has no lips, or who knows what they’d do to them. They all look like they just crawled out of a casket. (FTR, I like Greg Jarrett)
And it was said to be especially distressing for the woman involved when a large clump of spray-on, artificial hair fell onto her face.
