>> Working as a foreign lobbyist while serving as a national security adviser for the presidential campaign of Donald Trump — of all people — makes him ‘effing retarded.
Check out the threads where the judge later apologized. The reason for the apology is the judge admitted he had the dates wrong, and Flynn did NOT lobby for our NATO ally (Turkey) WHILE serving as a national security advisor.
The idiot judge also needs to lookup the definition of Treason. It does not include working with an ally.
Flynn played two different roles over the course of his tenure with Trump:
1. During the campaign, he was a senior adviser on national security matters (I used the term "national security adviser" without capitalization in Post #6, which was understandably confusing).
2. At some point after the election, he was nominated for the position of National Security Adviser (NSA) by Trump.
Lobbying for Turkey in Scenario #2 -- which the judge seemed to think was the case before the midday break in today's proceeding -- almost certainly would have been illegal (I'm sure it is, but I don't know the exact charge that would apply).
Lobbying for Turkey in Scenario #1 is not illegal but is astonishingly stupid simply for the political optics of it -- and makes Trump look bad just by association.
