The judge was giving all the signs that he was going to sentence Flynn to prison time. Gave him a chance to postpone to maximize his cooperation.

IMO, you are on the wrong side of this, lodi90. Flynn could not fight this, very few people can. All the unlimited resources of the Government brought to bear on a private citizen with limited resources.
This process has bankrupted Flynn. He had no recourse. He had to cut a deal.
Seriously. Every single person in this country who cares about the danger of government tyranny and the rejection of selective prosecution for political purposes should be on the side of Michael Flynn.
Flynn is a Democrat. Maybe he is hoping to be rehabilitated post Trump? He certainly doesn’t deserve a pardon now that he is playing for Team Mueller Coup.
No, it’s not.
sets a status hearing for March 13th.
Of what year?
Excuse me while I wipe the soda pop off of my monitor.
Besides....I think Comey shot off his mouth a bit too soon....."I got away with it"...
This will go on and on.
It’s called “a bone for the media”...and boy did they bite...
He does have the financial resources, nor want his son charged.
Unbelievable and disgusting to read these comments here on this forum.
These are historic times. It’s “unbelievable and disgusting” to see a retired US Army General Officer roll over for the Mueller Coup. It goes against every oath he ever took.
Mueller forgot to tell the judge that he still had Flynn by the _______.
Nope. The judge tried several times to get Flynn to withdraw his plea but Flynn refused so the judge finally got him to postpone the sentencing on the hopes Flynn will finally grew to withdraw the plea. The judge clearly does not think Flynn guilty of the charge. Flynn doesnt want to be charged with other offenses, or have his son charged, so he is willing to be sentenced on this charge which everyone knows he is not guilty of. The judge put the case off in the hopes Flynn will change his mind.
Agree. He is certainly not deserving of a pardon given these circumstances.
Yeah. The Judge got the defense and prosecution to admit publicly that Flynn is only pleading guilty for lying to the FBI because Mueller is threatening Flynn with other stuff. We all know, even the judge knows, that Flynn didnt lie but Mueller doesnt really want him on the supposedly the more serious stuff in the Turkey mess but want him on a political agenda, to carry to narrative stuff of Russia amd Trump....etc
Yup!
Interestingly, for a Democrat, this was the speech (according to Wikipedia, which is not an impartial source) he gave that sounds fine to me:
"...As one of the keynote speakers during the first night of the 2016 Republican National Convention, Flynn gave what the Los Angeles Times described as a "fiery" speech, in which he stated: "We are tired of Obama's empty speeches and his misguided rhetoric. This, this has caused the world to have no respect for America's word, nor does it fear our might"; he accused Obama of choosing to conceal the actions of Osama bin Laden and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Flynn went on to criticize political correctness and joined the crowd in a chant of "U-S-A! U-S-A!". During the chants, he told those in the audience, "Get fired up! This is about our country."
During the speech, Flynn launched a blistering attack on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. He led the crowd in chants of "Lock her up!"; during one of those chants, he encouraged the crowd to keep it up, saying, "Damn right! Exactly right! There is nothing wrong with that!" He called for Clinton to withdraw from the race, saying that "if I did a tenth of what she did, I'd be in jail today." He repeated in subsequent interviews that she should be "locked up". While campaigning for Trump, Flynn also referred to Clinton as the "enemy camp". Six days after the speech, Flynn stirred up a controversy by retweeting anti-Semitic remarks, which he later apologized for and claimed were unintentional. During the election campaign, Flynn used Twitter to post links to negative stories about Clinton, like the Pizzagate conspiracy theory..."
If he was a Democrat, he was either speaking to the crowd for what they wanted, or was truly converted. But I will say this: Flynn was virulently and vocally opposed to the Iran Nuclear Deal. On this, he not only knew more about what we are calling "Uranium One", but was an outspoken critic within the administration of what Obama clearly thought was one of his crown jewels, the Iran Deal. So he didn't make himself any friends there.
This whole thing stinks to me, but of the things Flynn is even accused of being associated with, never mind doing, those are completely the most innocuous things in the entire collage of circumstances and events.
As I inferred, he comes across as a arrogant dipstick who treats subordinates roughly, but that doesn't justify bringing the weight of the government down on him using entrapment for a minor process crime which by all accounts the FBI itself didn't think was a crime.
There is far more to this than meets the eye.
You got it correct:
“I felt terrible about that,” Judge Sullivan says, after the prosecutor notes Flynn’s conduct as a foreign agent ended in mid-Nov 2016.
“I’m not suggesting he committed treason,” Sullivan adds, further apologizing for his remarks in the prior session.
Judge is not done with Mueller yet. He wants to dig into them. Gen. Flynn could not IMHO back out of the deal because Mueller would then go after him for FARA violations and send him to prison on that.
So he bit the bullet and Judge Sullivan did not like that he was not going to give him a chance to act on Mueller.
But the judge may not recognize or care that it puts Gen. Flynn and his family in greater jeopardy.
So that’s how we got here. It was a rough ride as I followed it on Twatter and watched all these Leftists cheering with glee over remarks by the judge he retracted.
Maybe our prayers were answered.
Sounded like the judge is just now figuring out what’s going on. He also said something else very interesting:
I have never taken a guilty plea from someone who is not guilty, and I dont intend to start now.
Well, I would like to think I wouldn’t roll over, or the people I admire wouldn’t roll over, but I also like to think that in combat, I wouldn’t crap my pants and run or freeze up, but...I have no way of knowing, not having walked in those shoes.
In the same vein I will not criticize people (as a general rule) for their conduct in combat, until I have had the full weight of the FBI, DOJ, CIA and the government bureaucracy brought to bear on me, bankrupting me, forcing me to move into a friends house or apartment, losing my life savings, and being threatened with felony charges that would result in my incarceration in a Federal Penitentiary, I won’t criticize Flynn for that, because that is exactly what happened to him.
If he has outright broken the law, and the investigation and punishment are not politically driven and commensurate with the crime (as meted out to others historically) I will have no complaint there.
Thank you for being positive. Demoralizers are everywhere.
Technically that’s how it done apparently.
Not entirely.
Judge Emmet Sullivan, a veteran of the bench who received his judicial appointments from Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, admonished Flynn at a hearing on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., for lying to the FBI, which he said was made worse because of where it occurred.
Note that the judge did NOT accuse him of treason, He asked the prosecutor if Flynn might have committed treason, and the reply was no.
